Our interview with @kait_rhoads and @thor_bueno is up on our YouTube channel!

Kait and Thor are amazingly talented, technically skilled, and highly trained glassblowers who have set themselves apart in a crazy industry!

In their early days, they were also part of @bteamglass in the 90s. This group of artists traveled all around California and beyond demonstrating, teaching, entertaining, and inspiring students, teachers, and glass enthusiasts.

It was so incredible to get to sit down with Kait and Thor and talk to them about their roots, their inspirations, and the magic behind the B Team! taken in Corning Museum of Glass by @thor_bueno

Can this guy take a bit or WHAT!? @thor_bueno Takes 'em like an absolute BOSS from across the @corningmuseum amphitheater from his assistant @evansnyderman and the rest of the @bteamglass. Then!! @jasonchrisglass bends the entire buildings mind while maxing out the glory to reheat the plate. I just had to sneak in a few action shots while I was on stage. #prismdesigns #pataneglass #bteamglass #glass #art by @thor_bueno

In 1992 I spent 2 weeks traveling around California as the B Team with Zesty Meyers, Thor Bueno, Chuck Vanetta and Marina Marioni. It was a great experience and it is even more exciting to reunite with the B Team 30+yrs later to present the performance Spontaneous Combustion: Resistance at the Glass Art Society Conference Kick-Off event on Wednesday, June 3 6 pm in the Corning Museum of Glass’s Amphitheater Stage.

Thank everyone for sharing their Fears and Wishes, B Team aims to release your impediments during the performance and encourages you to manifest your wishes. Wish stations will be available at both ground and first floor entrances to the Amphitheater Stage for the duration of the GAS conference. go to BTeamGlass.com to submit both your fears and wishes today! Meet the B Team!

Between 1991 and 1999, the B Team had an energetic in-flux roster of members, who then dispersed into a vibrant constellation of artists, entrepreneurs, and educators. The upcoming reunion at the GAS conference in Corning will bring together 9 members, many of whom will be working together for the first time.

Kelly Lamb is a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist working with diverse materials and forms that explore the intersecting layers of history, identity, politics, and culture. She uses new technologies and classical materials to create contemporary fossils and relics that explore the intertwined dialogues between art, identity, nature, and technology, reframing historical perspectives.

Thor Bueno is a glass artist who first studied the material at Palomar College. He received his BFA from the University of California, San Diego, and his MFA from Alfred University. Thor has taught glass at Pilchuck Glass School, Penland School of Craft, and Urban Glass. Since 2000, he has run Bueno Glass in Penland, North Carolina, in collaboration with Jennifer Bueno. by @thor_bueno
