A little Grieg from Hardanger 🤍🎻

An excerpt from Grieg’s Violin Sonata No. 2 in G major, together with the wonderful Thormod Rønning Kvam at @hardanger_musikkfest

There is something very special about playing Grieg’s music surrounded by the landscape that inspired so much of his musical world. 🇳🇴✨

Thank you, Thormod, and thank you Hardanger! ❤️

This year marks the 150th anniversary of one of Edvard Grieg’s most important piano works — the Ballade in G minor. I cannot think of a more beautiful place to perform it than Hardanger, where he and his wife Nina settled directly after finishing the ballad. Next week the dream comes true — during the 30th anniversary of @hardanger_musikkfest. See you there!

🗓️ Laurdag 29. august kl. 13.00
📍 Skrivargarden, Lofthus
🎟️ Billett: 295 kr

There is so much I want to say about this moment — but I think the photo already says it all. I am grateful beyond words to Lars Petter Hagen and Festspillene i Bergen for inviting me to make my solo debut at the festival in June, with the programme of my dreams, and just as honoured to have my former professor Jiří Hlinka in the audience.

It was one of those rare moments of realising you’ve become what you dreamt of when you were young — nerve-racking, almost like an exam, but it can also give you an almost surreal extra gear of energy. I still haven’t quite come back down to earth.

Now I’m looking forward to bringing this programme to new audiences throughout 2026 — starting tomorrow in beautiful Horten Church, my mother’s childhood town, on their lovely new Steinway, followed by Hardanger Musikkfest in August. I feel extremely lucky!

Velkommen, enten du er førstereis eller trofast publikummer! taken in Ramme by @thormodkvam

Next stop: @festspillene! 💛🥳 This year I’ve dived into Tchaikovsky’s immensely beautiful Seasons — one of his large-scale piano works written 150 years ago. Really excited to perform this in two sold-out concerts Saturday and Sunday!
