Wow what a year!!! Happy Birthday my dear Evie
Can’t believe your a 11 🎂 Am definitely a lucky guy to be your Dad as your kindness, caring and happy nature seriously inspires me everyday ! You have grown so much as a person and have truly gone from a little warrior princess and my first daughter to a young girl warrior who is so brave , hardworking at school and kind . The teenage years will be here before we know it ( I am preparing 😅) and here I am, still your old man! What a special week and weekend celebrating our mate @quicky73 - Shane Quick “ Quicky” — surrounded by his family, our old mates , colleagues and so many people whose lives he touched along the way.
The memorial service and paddle out on the Sunshine Coast in his hometown of Kings Beach was a reminder that while we miss him deeply, there is so much more to remember than how we lost him.

Perhaps the best thing we can do is celebrate how he lived.

Shane lived a big life.
He loved.
He travelled.
He served.
He became a Dad.
He chased adventures.
He made friends — and kept many of them for decades.

He had a way of bringing people together, and this weekend was proof of just how many lives he touched.

There was plenty of laughter, plenty of stories, a few beers, waves ridden , some great memories and a whole lot of love.

Out in the water, surrounded by old mates and family, it felt like the perfect way to honour him — together, doing what we do, and remembering the good times.

Quicky, you certainly left your mark, mate.

Here’s to the adventures, the friendships, the laughs and the memories that will keep you with us.

With a heavy heart, it’s goodbye for now, QUICKY.  I’ll miss you and all our adventures mate so having one last strike mission to Fiji with your spirit with us will hold a special place.

I feel the enormous privilege of speaking on behalf of so many of Shane’s old classmates, lifelong mates and friends. So many have reached out to me to pass on their deepest sympathy and share their memories so thank you !
And I think it’s fair to say that for a lot of us, Shane wasn’t just someone we knew.
He was one of our people.
For me, that journey started back in Year 7 at St Mary’s College in Nathalia, Victoria.
We became mates pretty much instantly. I remember Shane telling me he was into skateboarding, punk and rock music, and motorbikes — and I think that was probably all the information I needed to know that we were going to be good mates. That was Shane.
Easy to roll with and always up for anything.
He had his own way of doing things. He was adventurous, loyal, independent and, above all, he made life interesting.
There was never really anything ordinary about Quicky.
But behind that adventurous spirit was an enormous heart. He cared deeply for the people close to him.
Behind all the cheekiness and adventure was a genuinely top bloke.
Shane found love early in life, and then along came Ben and Zoe — two beautiful kids who became such an important part of who he was. Life took Shane on another incredible journey when he joined the Army as a medic, which ultimately led him into his career as a paramedic.
And I think that says something about him.
Shane was someone who wanted to help people. Someone you could rely on.
But if you really want to understand Shane, I think you have to look at him as a Dad. He was an epic Dad ! Those of us who knew Shane over the years remember so many great times.
The laughs. The adventures. Surfing, wakeboarding and snowboarding. The music. The motorbikes. The surfboards he loved collecting. His photo collection.
We wish we’d had more time.
But we got 46 years, mate.
And what a bloody ride it was. RIP Shane Quick — Quicky. ❤️Lest we forget ✊

Photo dump from the mountains of Falls Creek, through the beauty of the Kiewa Valley, and all the way back home to the Gold Coast.

Doing the things we love with the people we love. It was so good to be back in the blue coat for a few weeks , snowboard instructing at Falls Creek and sharing the stoke with so many people. Watching the girls embrace every adventure, whether it’s carving up the mountains, hitting a few skate parks or chasing waves , has been special. They continue to fall in love with every moment spent in the snow and by the ocean, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the memories we’ve made seeing all the friends and family down south @muddyblungrelthorpey @robbie.a.thorpe @skiplusmountbeauty @springspur @vesnasugden @marko_and_what

Into the holidays 💨 we went with some surf comps , tweed river missions, school disco’s done on a whole new level thanks to @hunssolo ♥️ and a fun skate sessions with the @rocknslideskateboarding crew .
The girls certainly love their little shred ‘ community and surfing with their @alleyboardriders_ Team mates up n down the coast . Tons of gratitude to @ajclarky4213 + @seastheday2026 + @mnm_boardridersclub family for an incredible few weeks of 🏄‍♀️ comps for the Mini Groms to keep having fun and learning .

Proud of Evie for the consistent early starts with her @jaycoachphillips Wednesday Warriors 🏄‍♀️ mates and braving the colder mornings to keep surfing with Dad before school . She surfed her heart ♥️ out and had a blast 💥 with all the girls at the Critta Comp to make the final and walk away with 🥉so the stoke 🤘was real✨… thank Evie for the MJ 😂 disco 💃 tunes

Big thanks to @gmsv @sharp for keeping the big wheels rolling for us on all our adventures.

Epic Easter adventures wrapped into one unforgettable run 🌊🏕️ 🙏 @gmspecialtyvehicles @sharpmotorgroup @yakimaracksaunz

Kicked things off with an all-time camping trip at Broken Head & Byron, scoring fun waves and good vibes with the usual suspects. Nothing beats sunrise surfs, salty life, and days with these epic humans.

Then Evie’s had her first crack at the Parko Grom Surf Comp up on the Sunny Coast! We were super proud watching her get out there, get a few waves and give it everything 💙in her heat . Thanks to the @surfing_queensland gang and @joelparko for creating such a great Comp for the groms !!

We also had the @malibuboats 🇺🇸 Leadership Team out from the USA, spending time touring our Australian factory , visiting @melbourne_malibu and connecting with the crew — always special sharing what we’re building & continuing to create here 30 years on .

Wrapped it all up for Aura’s 8th birthday 🎉 ❤️‍🔥with a few magic days at Somerset Dam with the @jswpowersports crew… loads of laughs, glassy water for Aura , and the perfect way to wave goodbye to summer ☀️🙌 with some of our owners up there.

Back to my old stomping ground in Melbourne — but this time, seeing it through Evie’s eyes 🤍
What a trip… watching her light up at her first pro wakeboard comp, giving the cable park a crack, horse riding adventures, a movie premiere (an epic tale of wakeboarding @la.familiaco you should watch ), and even surfing the wave park 🌊
So special sharing all the things I loved growing up with my girl — and even more special watching her fall in love with them too. These are the moments I’ll hold onto forever.
