They say nothing good happens after dark, but we disagree. A little macabre, slightly strange and never too quirky! Show us your inner dark side as we head into the spooky season.
💡Think Gothic architecture, decaying nature, haunting landscapes, nocturnal or inner worlds.

It’s all in the preparation 🤎 Before a single cut is made there’s a little more than measuring twice and cutting once.

We carefully measure and recheck every timber length, allowing for the small clearance needed for glass and backing to fit snugly yet freely in the frame. We continually look over the timber for any imperfections as we move to the next cut. Always making sure only the best frame heads out the studio and onto your wall 😌🤎

We have great pleasure in congratulating Paula @jagged_light_photography on the winning image. This image gives us a feeling and reveals only part of the story leaving us wanting to know more. There’s a beautiful rhythm that keeps your eye travelling through the image and the serene flow echoes the expression. Thank you to everyone who shared their incredible images for the August theme “Fragments”. Our congratulations to the Top 10 finalists!

We have great pleasure in congratulating Ben Hams on the winning image. For us the layers of fragments within a larger part of a story captures the theme beautifully. The monochromatic palette lets the repetition of patterns, lines, textures and perspective do the work, and there is a sense of power, mystery and ambiguity which draws you in and makes you linger. It is a compelling fragment of a much bigger story. Congratulations Ben!

I'm sharing Kangaroo Tail again because this artwork is now available to collect.
The framed print, presented as exhibited in Into the Wild, is available for AUD $950 (plus shipping).

This post is also a little milestone for me. It's the first in a new editorial style I've been developing to share not just individual photographs, but the stories behind them and the collections they belong to.
