On November 9, the avant-garde fashion collective @threeasfour takes the stage at Nine Orchard with @papermagazine’s Mickey Boardman (@askmrmickey) for a conversation on their creative process, sources of inspiration, and the enduring relevance of the Lower East Side, on the occasion of the new @threeasfourfilm, “threeASFOUR: FULL CIRCLE” (directed by @sean_ono_lennon), opening at @filmforumnyc on November 13. The intimate documentary follows designers Gabi Asfour, Angela Donhauser, and Adi Gil as they navigate the tension between creative independence and financial viability, while continually pushing the boundaries of what fashion can be. @stretcharmstrong spins records after the program, until close.

threeASFOUR uses fashion to promote international and intercultural unity. This is evident not just in their work, but in the way they work together – hailing from Lebanon, U.S.S.R, and Israel, and representing their diverse backgrounds and cultures in their work, as one.

The spirit of community inspires threeASFOUR’s commitment to constant collaboration. This was also at the root of how the film was made. Thank you to the entire team behind the production, including those pictured here at our @tribeca premiere: Annalise Pelous (associate editor), Lauren Evangelista (producer), Jenny Golden (writer/editor), Beth Levison (producer), and Rhea Dudani (associate producer). by @threeasfourfilm

$For threeASFOUR, and before then, ASFOUR including @kai.ser.kai, fashion has never been simply a way of dressing, but a way of seeing the world. Their ‘United Nations of fashion’ combines cutting-edge technologies with couture craftsmanship to promote international, intercultural, and interspecies unity. From the primordial topologies of glaciers to the nano-vibrations of the quantum realm, threeASFOUR’s signature codes – curvilinear shapes, fractal structures, formal biomimicry–draw inspiration from the natural geometries that connect the architecture of the individual human body to its universal, cosmic contexts. By using pioneering production methods–especially 3D-printing and the creation of digital fashion and virtual environments–threeASFOUR inhabits the confluence of timeless, transcendent themes and future-facing innovation. by @threeasfourfilm$
