Pat Connaughton has built one of the NBA’s most unique portfolios.

The 11-year veteran, 2021 NBA champion, and current Charlotte Hornet has made a career as a reliable role player — the kind of player every winning team needs, even if the spotlight doesn’t always follow.

Off the court, the business is even bigger.

Connaughton is the founder and CEO of Three Leaf Partners, a real estate firm with a portfolio valued at more than $600 million. Last year alone, the company did $175 million in development, raised $75 million, and now has more than 1,200 units under construction.

He also runs the Pat Connaughton Foundation, building basketball courts in underserved communities and using the game to teach leadership, discipline, accountability, and work ethic.

— Design Develop Construct (DDC) Journal, Summer 2026

We’re proud to be featured in the Summer 2026 issue of DDC Journal. “A Model for Momentum” tells the story of how Three Leaf Partners has grown since our founding in 2022, and how we’ve done it.

🏡 Engaging neighbors early: we host meetings before applications are filed, listen to concerns and come back with changes

⛪️ Mission-based partnerships with faith communities, which account for close to half of our projects and turn underused land into needed housing

👷 Vertical integration through Three Leaf Construction, our licensed general contracting arm

🔎 Disciplined site selection, focused on well-located communities in growing, pro-growth municipalities

Today we have six communities under construction across Wisconsin and Illinois, and we couldn’t have built any of them alone. Thank you to DDC Journal for sharing our story, and to the architects, engineers, trade partners, municipalities and congregations we build alongside.

Hornets Media Day was this week. 🎙️

In between basketball questions, Pat got asked about real estate.

Fun to hear him talk about where it all started, job sites with his dad, a passion for building, and growth that came quicker than he expected. by @threeleafpartners

Good design gets you noticed. 𝐀 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐲. 🏆

We’re proud to share that Westrock Residences in Hartland has been named the 2026 TOBY Award winner for Best Curb Appeal by the Apartment Owners & Managers Association of Wisconsin (AOMA).

This recognition is a testament to the thoughtful design, attention to detail and ongoing care that have gone into making Westrock a community our residents are proud to call home.

And the hardware didn’t stop there. Congratulations to Skyler P. on being named Leasing Associate of the Year! Another well-deserved recognition for the people behind the communities we build.

We’re excited to keep growing Westrock and delivering an exceptional living experience for our residents.

A vision coming to life in 𝐂𝐫𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐈𝐋.

Parkway Crossing represents a landmark collaboration between Three Leaf Partners and Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, transforming 23.8 acres of underutilized land into a purpose-driven residential community built to make a lasting impact.

The 220-home community will feature 11 two-story, direct-entry buildings with one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, complemented by a resort-style pool and cabanas, fitness center, golf simulator, clubhouse, walking trails, playground and expansive green space.

At the heart of the project is a partnership rooted in purpose. Together with Immanuel Lutheran and the @lcef_, Parkway Crossing creates a sustainable source of support for Immanuel’s ministry while bringing new housing, recreation and community amenities to City of Crystal Lake, including a new 4.8-acre public park that will be gifted back to the City.

Located just one mile from downtown Crystal Lake, Parkway Crossing is designed to create opportunity, strengthen community and serve future generations.

Welcome to Parkway Crossing.
