Tucked away below Dragon Oriental is @aftertastemcr who kindly invited us to try some of their menu, and here’s what the three of us thought:

🍰 Biscoff Cheesecake Bingsu: the star of the show. Fluffy shaved ice layered with that unmistakable Biscoff flavour with creamy cheesecake buried within. A must for anyone who enjoys bingsu and biscoff!

🫚 Ginger Tonic: definitely one for the true ginger fans! The flavour is very pronounced, so it wasn’t quite our cup of tea, but ginger lovers will appreciate it.

🍮 Soya Milk & Silken Tofu Pudding with Brown Sugar Sauce: a more traditional dessert that’s best suited to tofu lovers. Not our personal favourite, but fans of the classic will probably enjoy it.

Our verdict: go for the bingsu and pair it with the mango slushy or the lychee & yuzu tonic. 👌 Their new drinks debut end of October/ November so follow @aftertastemcr for more updates!

A day out in Liverpool, done right:

⚓️ Royal Albert Dock: start by the water. Coffee in hand, red-brick warehouses, museums and the best waterfront views in the city.

🎸 The Cavern Club: head down the stairs on Mathew Street to where the Beatles made their name. Live music all day and an atmosphere you can’t fake.

⛪️ Liverpool Cathedral: the biggest cathedral in Britain, and it feels it. Step inside, look up and take your time.

🛍 The markets: finish with a wander through the stalls for street food, local finds and a little something you didn’t plan to buy.

Walkable, full of character and so much more than a football city. Save this for your next day trip 📌
