Words can't explain how great this trip was for me. I met so many cool people and felt like I put myself to the test in many different ways.

Got to freestyle with the legend @mcsupernatural on stage over his beats which meant a lot to me

Was pleasantly surprised to meet @arevolutionmusic and @coleywater in person who were super cool and we had a lot of great conversations

The homies @scessions and @baronxlive were really adamant about helping me make it no matter what so I really appreciate yall

and of course big shout out to @fungiflows and the whole team for making this possible. If you couldn't make it out to this one I highly recommend pulling up to next years @infinitecypher

Shout out @cassiecatnip holding it down on the streamer bus and thank you to every single person who was a part of this and the ones that showed me love.

Infinite love yall, Peace

Most people won’t start rapping until someone finishes and that kills the energy and puts a huge strain on the person rhyming. Pick it up for them or pass the mic!! taken in Middle East Restaurant and Nightclub by @throwedgenji

You can’t have both.

I asked Throwed Genji the question every hip-hop head has an opinion on:

Boom bap or trap?

He had to pick ONE.

Do you agree with his choice?

Freestyling and writing are two completely different skills.

Throwed Genji is one of those rare MCs who can rhyme intelligently about virtually anything or anyone in real time. His freestyles aren’t just random bars—they’re clever, focused, and built on the spot.

On this episode of Herm Radio, I ask Genji to break down what goes through his mind while he’s freestyling and how he developed that ability over the years.

I’ve always preferred writing and carefully crafting my verses, so hearing Genji explain his creative process gave me an even greater appreciation for the art of freestyling.

Do you think the greatest MCs need to master both, or is excelling at one enough?

Does lyricism still matter in today’s hip-hop?

On this episode of Herm Radio, I sat down with @throwedgenji to discuss whether bars still have a place in today’s rap landscape. His answer? Lyricism isn’t dead—it just isn’t always at the center of the mainstream conversation.

We talk about the artists, labels, and collectives continuing to push the craft forward, including @rhymesayers, @griseldarecords, @iamspesh, @ransom, @boldyjames, and others who continue to prove that elite penmanship still has an audience.

Do you think lyricism is thriving, or has it become a niche?

Drop your thoughts in the comments.
