SCRAP NIGHT: FRINGE EDITION 2nd Hand Circus is back, and this time we’re getting fringey! Two nights of scrappy circus, thrift-store treasures, questionable materials, and brand-new circus made from stuff that probably had other plans. September 26 at 7:30pm + 27 at 7pm (two nights, two different shows)
Thunderbird Hall (not Salvage)
2856 Frankford Ave, Philadelphia
**Part of the Philadelphia Fringe Festival** @fringearts As always, we’re making circus out of the cast-offs: thrifted, salvaged, recycled, repurposed, and generally rescued from the trash pile. And because it’s Fringe… wear fringe.
Fringe on your jacket. Fringe on your pants. Fringe on your body. Fringe you found at the bottom of a thrift bin. We’re not picky. Come dressed like you crawled out of a thrift store and into a circus. Join us for hot pupusas from @masa_discos, community-building carnival games from @annebrashiercreative, and the @2ndhandcircus Scrappy Thrift shop! Scrappy. Sustainable. You never really know what’s going to happen at Scrap Night. Like... someone might make pancakes on a trapeze. 🥞 then feed them to an audience member. And then feed them to someone. Scrap Night is a recurring sustainable circus performance series by our Philadelphia-based 2nd Hand Circus, where circus artists create brand-new short acts inspired by thrifted, recycled, or forgotten secondhand objects. And this is the kind of thing we love about a true open stage. Artists get a chance to try something new, push an idea somewhere unexpected, and see what happens when they put it in front of a live audience. Two nights of circus, clown, physical theater, thrifted treasures, smart carnival games, drinks, pupusas, and a whole lot of possibility. September 26 + 27

We do our best to curate an interesting line up but even us behind the stage have absolutely no idea what will be coming to the stage in actuality And that’s the fun part #thingstodophilly #2ndhandcircus #phillyfringe #phillyarts #phillyevents photo credit to @michaeltakespicturesdotcom taken in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by @thunderbirdhall
