On a warm summers night in February 2019, a seismic sound was heard from Frankston to afar. It was an evening of dancing and debauchery, of which Young Street had never seen to such extent before. As history knows it, this was the birth of Thunderground: The Mornington Peninsula’s new showcase of dance music talent both locally and beyond. An idea conceived from a want, a need, for a place close to home to enjoy the splendors of The Peninsula & Melbourne’s decadent music scene.

The 4 year journey that followed was one of grandeur, spanning venues from Gods Kitchen to the Tramp Basement, from The Pier Hotel’s revolving dancefloor to the cage above the stairs of Revolver. From Phillip Island to the CBD, from Day Spa to kick on’s in Frankston, even a pandemic yield no challenge.

Today, Thunderground announces a once-off celebration for what was - thanks to our dear friends Circus, a fitting home for our antics over the years. Join us for an afternoon of dancing and debauchery on the rooftop, for old times sake. Head to the link in our bio to grab your tickets 🎟️ taken in Circus Bar & Nightclub by @thunderground_events
