“Slow down Gurney!”

It was the end of the day golden hour shot depicting the race finish. We went out and lined up between turn 8/9 and started our first rehearsal. The sun was going down and time was limited.

Stunt coordinator @rpnagle wanted me to drive off the exit of turn 9 to kick up dirt and then beat Alex Gurney (whom played his dad Dan) to the line for a photo finish. We tried it once, the sun was blinding and as the car danced back onto the track I had to leg it to catch Alex … our timing was a bit off when we crossed the line.

I remember laughing all the way back to reset. I came to a stop turned off the car looked over to Alex and yelled “slow down Gurney”. This one was special. Shot on the same location where the LeMans pit road scene was for @fordvferrari brought back some great memories. Working alongside some of my favorite industry people and great friends made this one a gem. Coordinated by FvF @rpnagle and directed by @papa2 along with the @apcamcars team ! .. it was a bit of a homecoming 🏁 @cadillac @f1 … thanks to all 🙏 taken in Agua Dulce, by @thuntstunts

Among all the incredible sights flooding social media this past week from @fosgoodwood, one moment resonated with me more than any other—the recreation of the iconic 1966 #LeMans 24 Hours finish (top photo).

This legendary moment in motorsport history marked its 60th anniversary this year.

I vividly remember the day we reenacted that very scene on a closed runway just outside Los Angeles during the filming of #FordvFerrari (middle photo). On a warm, sunny afternoon, director #JamesMangold called, “Action!” as hundreds of extras in period-correct attire roared with excitement while we raced toward an exact recreation of the 1966 Le Mans pit straight and finish line.

Like so many moments during that film, I found myself in a surreal state of focus. It’s hard to explain, but every scene carried its own energy and emotion because we weren’t just filming a movie—we were bringing history back to life.

As we approached the finish, the call came over the radio from @rpnagle RobertNagle to get into formation. It was an especially meaningful moment for my friend @jeffbucknum, who was doubling for his father, Ronnie Bucknum, in the gold No. 5 GT40, while the talented @tannerfoust, doubling Bruce McLaren, pulled alongside in the familiar staggered formation as our cars coasted across the finish line.

An epic rivalry. Iconic cars. Legendary drivers. One of the greatest—and most controversial—finishes in motorsport history.

Sixty years later, the three Ford GT Mk IIs that swept the podium in 1966 were reunited at #FOS2026, this time with Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti, and Marco Andretti behind the wheel. I have no doubt they experienced the same rush and sense of pride we felt, knowing they were helping recreate one of the most iconic moments our sport has ever seen.
