My DIY art can sell my book better than AI slop. Well, maybe not, but I’d rather do this than use generative AI. I’ve seen some authors do this with stick figures, but I decided to put in a little more effort so as to fully embarrass myself.

Behold, the exorcism of the priest, an exciting scene from my latest novel, an occult thriller with everything you could possibly want! Adventure. Magic. International setting. A McGuffin. Bombs! And of course, alcohol.

Yes, it IS all men.

Let me explain, because no, not all men have committed sexual assault. But, the conversation can justly be framed as all men for two reasons, at least.
1. Strategically. Women are well within their rights to take whatever steps around men to feel safe, to reduce risk, with the idea that any man COULD assault them.
2. Potentially. Power corrupts. What we are seeing is the end result of systemic, historic, and cultural preference for men that fail to provide consequence. This is power. Power corrupts. Men, be vigilant of ourselves and each other.

How do you frame the “all men” discussion?

The reviews are in! It’s time to give in, and order your own copy of The Wine of the Mummy’s Tomb!

“seamlessly fuses procedural noir with pulpy occult adventure in a way that feels both fresh and irresistibly nostalgic.”

“The characters are quirky, and the plot moves along quickly.”

“Keeps readers hooked.”

“A writing style reminiscent of James Herbert’s ‘The Fog.”

Available on Audible now! No AI used in writing, voice acting, or making this post. Because I’d rather have questionable polish, but at least it is human. https://www.audible.com/pd/B0H6QSWQWY?source_code=ASSORAP0511160006&share_location=pdp. #horror #bookstagram #indieauthorsofinstagram #cheshire #zombie by @thx1147

My mother in law came for a visit, and later I found this over the door to our balcony. Probably not a he , but it has me curious. Any guesses? Wild conjecture? Pitches for a short story? If it helps decipher, she is Korean and Catholic. #secretcode #code #mystery #curious by @thx1147

Attempting to prove that DIY is better than AI slop to promote my book. Maybe? Not stick figures, but hand drawn with markers and a little fiddling around in Canva. Voila! Read my book! It’s horror with occult thriller and according to one reviewer, “The characters are quirky, and the plot moves along quickly.” #fuckai #horror #diy #bookart #indieauthor

I thought I had to use the little AI assistant to set up my web page on Wix. Somehow, even giving it an image I had, when I explained I was trying to put up an image of @pattonoswalt as a saint, I got this. So, not exactly on the mark, but amusing to me. #saint #fuckai #oops #sainthood by @thx1147

Quick note. I’ve been learning and am always open to admitting my own mistakes. I had previously noted this to not be a tit, as it is a Blue Titmouse. I have since learned that this bird is in the family Paridae, and therefore, despite the naming quirk, is not only a tit, but a true tit. That is all. Carry on. #tit #truetit #bluetitmouse #ornithology. Also, shout out and recommendations to @landonfrakerart for the print. Check this dude out! by @thx1147

This tiny lizard says, “You’re doing great!” I’d believe him and keep keeping on. It’d be so sad to let the little guy down. #motivation #lizard #nature #dirt by @thx1147
