Few drinks with friends after the IET Wise event, (aka Awards ceremony pre-drinks).
Thanks Nick and the IET for the invitation.

WISE has been an organisation I will always support.
Thanks to WISE I was able gain early access to careers support, mentoring and residential courses whilst still at school.

A real privilege to be invited to get involved!
Hopefully, I’ll be back to speak in 2027! ❣️

A brilliant afternoon at @bigdata_ldn with Zoe Kelly, Frances O’Rafferty and Ashleigh Bond for the @she.does.data panel.

What I enjoyed most was focusing on what women are already achieving in data.

I shared some research on the DataIQ 100. In each of the six years I reviewed, women represented more than half of those recognised among the most influential people in data.

Highlighting this matters, it helps change perceptions of what is possible, and those of us already in senior roles have a responsibility to create more of it by giving people meaningful work, greater responsibility and the opportunity to be seen delivering.

We also discussed AI, investment and the importance of starting with the problem rather than the technology.

A positive conversation about progress, leadership and where the industry goes next.

Last week I attended the Royal Norwegian Embassy for the 8th annual cross-border discussion for the Women on Boards initiative. 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴

Twice a year we meet to progress the international efforts to elevate more women to Chair positions across Europe. 🇪🇺

Thank-you to the Women on Boards initiative for their efforts and to His Excellency the Ambassador of Norway for his ongoing support.

Who do AWS get to talk about agentic?….. Yours truly🙂
Pics from my keynote last week at the AWS Agentic AI Forum
I delivered a talk to CIOs/CTOs/CDOs and COOs across the FTSE100 and S&P500 on how to realise ROI when implementing AI.
We covered identifying the high value use cases, governance shortfalls, literacy and securing stakeholder buy during the crucial first 6 months.

The embargo is over. I can share news!

Delighted to have been selected for the HotTopics Global Chief Data Officer Top 100. 🌍

It is a real honour to be recognised alongside data leaders shaping how organisations use data, AI and technology to create commercial and operational value.

Thank you to HotTopics and @cloverdxcr for the recognition, and to the teams, peers and partners I have had the privilege of working with throughout my career. 🏆

First hotel room job in Montreux was opening the sponsor merch bag. 🎧🎤

The kit is actually useful, which is always the test. There is a waterproof pouch for the activity, branded socks, stickers, electrolytes, earbuds, adapters, a limited edition microphone and a small bear (now called Monty) who is now coming with me for the rest of the trip. 🧸

I have a meet and greet downstairs, concerts this afternoon and a rooftop party later, so this was the sensible moment to open everything before getting changed and pretending my suitcase is under control.🕺🏻🎵🪩🍾

Business travel is mostly hotel room admin with better lighting and occasionally excellent merch. 👩🏻‍💼

Geneva first. Montreux next.

I arrived in Switzerland yesterday, had one very civilised morning of calls by the lake, and now I’m heading to Montreux where I’m speaking with Shure, headline sponsor of the Montreux Jazz Festival. 🎶🎵🎤

Most people know Shure for microphones, speakers and audio equipment. Today’s conversation is about the technology behind modern meetings, collaboration and communication.

Then it’s back to Geneva for the UN AI Summit, where the discussion moves to AI, leadership and how this technology is used at global scale. 🇺🇳🇨🇭

A fairly surreal week of AI, business travel, live music, lake views and Mont Blanc in the background.

Follow for the real behind the scenes of AI speaking, executive tech events and business travel.
