I Decided earlier this month to commit myself to a daily dedicated practice in order to finally fulfill my dream of actually learning guitar and becoming A PLAYER 💪🏾🎸👌🏾
It’s still a lil rough… but this slide thing is pulling my heart strings♥️

I don’t know how long this road will take but when I make it to the stage with this 🤞🏾we gonna CELEBRATE!!! All of Us!!!🫶🏾🤘🏾

P.S. I’ve recorded hours of raw footage since day 1. Documenting the whole journey! If you’re interested in all the ugly parts lol stay tuned and Maybe I’ll share it by @tieriniinaftaly

Memphis Made me. Memphis raised me. Built me up and broke me down many, many times. But i always felt like it was the Blues that saved me.

After highschool my life had so much promise! I was doing musical theatre work. I’d booked a few national tours, but I came home from tour and decided it was time for me to fully peruse a career in secular music. That didn’t go well with the family, fell on some really hard times with them and living at home felt impossible, so I left with nothing. 19 year old girl thrown out into in the real world. Clueless.

During that time I was isolated, abused and repeatedly violated and felt like I had nothing to live for. I had my innocence stolen from me and didn’t know who I was. “All I wanted to do was sing…how did I get here?!?” I asked myself that every day.

When I started singing down on Beale St, sitting in with the bands that played in the park. It was the only time I felt alive and in the present. At some point it was the smell of Beale St, the smell was a combination of BBQ, black and milds, whiskey in the air lol I could catch it from a block away. And as soon as that scent hit me it would regulate my nervous system. The walk down Beale released me from the fight or flight mode that I was consistently living in, and to sing the Blues reopened my heart to life. When I left Beale it would shut back down. I was just Surviving through fear and silence. I was always disoriented and detached from space and time. Never knew what day it was….But every time I went to sing the Blues suddenly I felt alive.
I had no intention on being a Blues singer then, but it didn’t even matter. I just needed music.

At some point the bands said I was making too many tips I couldn’t sit in anymore. They said you need to come back with ya own band. I thought they didn’t like me anymore 🥺 but no, they were done raising me lol After a couple of years working the R&B clubs, I came back with Southern Avenue. Til this day I can go down on Beale and see some of those players who raised me to be a Blues woman. And they celebrate me! They’re so proud of me.

The Blues saved me. And my expression of gratitude is my dedication to the Blues.💙 by @tieriniinaftaly

Super stoked Nashville! 🎶

We are excited to be joining two incredible songwriters, Dylan Altman and Marshall Altman, for a special night of music at The Listening Room Cafe!

We’ll be sharing songs, stories, and some of the inspiration behind the music in a more intimate setting.

Always something special about stripping things down to the acoustic guitar and have a foot stomping type of fun!

Come hang with us! ❤️
