One of my favorite parts of this Book Club Tour is getting to know the spaces we’re walking into and the people who created them. ☕️💛 So before we make our way to Pearland, I want y’all to meet Dewana Montgomery and Angie Jackson, the women behind Lit Java Coffee & Books. And their story started with a book club. They met virtually in 2020 through their shared love of books. Eventually they met face-to-face, a friendship grew, and somewhere along the way, Lit Java came to life. Today, they’ve created a beautiful Black-owned coffee shop and bookstore that feels warm, welcoming, and intentional. It’s a safe space where people can gather, connect, read, talk, and simply be. They even continue that beginning by hosting their own monthly book club. Their mission is to use coffee and books to connect the community to “LIT”erary experiences. Now you see why I thought, Oh, The Golden Roost belongs in here. 😌 There’s something special about bringing a tour centered around conversation, community, and becoming into a space that was built from those very same things. Pearland, we’ll see you September 5 at Lit Java Coffee & Books. ☕️💛 #TheGoldenRoost #GoldenRoostBookTour #BookClub #LitJavaCoffeeAndBooks by @tierrarocquel
And just like that... I'm 30! 🤍✨ Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes, prayers, calls, texts, and messages. Your love was felt from near and far, and I truly feel welcomed into the 30 Club! A special thank you to my friends and family who celebrated with me in Galveston. As I reflect on this birthday weekend, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. From relaxing on the beach and an unforgettable hibachi dinner on my birthday to the fireworks, delicious meals, endless laughter, and all the little moments in between, every memory was made even more meaningful because you were there. Thank you for every helping hand, every contribution, every encouraging word, and every act of kindness throughout the weekend. Your love and support made this milestone birthday more beautiful than I could have imagined. Here's to Chapter 30! A season of faith, purpose, joy, growth, and new adventures. I'm excited for all that God has in store. Thank you for helping make this a birthday I'll never forget. With all my love and gratitude, always. 🤍 — Tierra 👑🌊✨ by @tierrarocquel
