What a morning.

On October 3, 120 climbers stepped inside the Calgary Tower and took on all 802 steps of TIES Climb Strong 2026.

Some climbed with their teams. Some climbed with friends. Some challenged themselves to see just how far they could go.

But nobody climbed alone.

To every climber, donor, sponsor, partner, volunteer and supporter who helped make this day possible, thank you.

You climbed. You gave. You cheered. You showed up.
And together, we raised $35,853 in support of The Immigrant Education Society.

120 climbers.
30 volunteers.
$35,853 raised.
802 steps conquered.

More than the numbers, Climb Strong showed what can happen when people and organizations across Calgary come together around a shared purpose: creating opportunities for newcomers and building a stronger city for everyone.

We reached the top of the Calgary Tower, but the impact of this climb goes much further.

From all of us at TIES, thank you for climbing with us.
802 steps. Bigger impact.

The vote is on!

Albertans are heading to advance polls in droves to vote in Alberta Referendum 2026.

There are 10 questions on the ballot, including five on immigration issues.

It’s those questions TIES is urging everyone to “consider carefully” — as they can be confusing and the wrong answer could lead Alberta in the wrong direction.

Promoting cross-cultural connections and understanding.

TIES, in partnership with the Calgary Justice Film Festival (@calgaryjusticefilm), recently hosted a special screening of a powerful film showcasing the struggles of Sixties Scoop survivors (@ssisalberta).

And it was an eye-opening experience for the newcomers who viewed it.

How fast could you climb 802 steep steps?

That's what we asked participants at our TIES Climb Strong 2026 event Oct. 3rd at the Calgary Tower.

They even surprised themselves!! 💪 by @ties.yyc

A lot of Calgarians are likely still nursing some sore legs after climbing the Calgary Tower’s 802 steps this past Saturday!

The gruelling climb was for a good cause — supporting programs at The Immigrant Education Society!

The 2026 TIES Climb Strong fundraiser raised an amazing $35,853 and saw a huge turnout!

TIES can’t thank our supporters enough for showing up for newcomers in Calgary.

TIES is still flying high from the recent success of our 2026 TIES Climb Strong fundraiser.

And now one lucky raffle winner will be flying high as well!

Calgary-based WestJet was generous enough to provide us with two roundtrip tickets to wherever the airline flies.

TIES has now done the draw and the winner is... by @ties.yyc
