Six years of infertility. Six years of ups and downs, and six years of learning how much hope can cost.

I’ve been told by doctor after doctor that it’s just not possible.

“Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping”. It goes on to say in verse 20 that he never wavered in believing Gods promise. That’s my hope too. Even though I’ve been told that I may never get pregnant, I say “but God. This is where the miraculous will have to come in play. The only way this could ever happen is God. It always has been, and it always will be.

Some days it would be easier to stop hoping. But I won’t.

If you’re in your own season of waiting, you’re not alone in it. We can walk through this together.

Do you ever look at what’s happening in the world and wonder, “How did we get here?”

Paul tells us that we have no excuse for not knowing God, because He has made His invisible qualities known through creation. And yet, time and time again, humanity has chosen not to worship the Creator. Verse 21 shows us that when people made this choice, they fell into foolish ideas about who God was, and their minds became dark and confused.

As I continued reading, I felt a deep sense of grief, a reflection of the Father’s own heart. He has given us free will, and because of that, verse 24 says He abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired.

God’s heart is that no one should perish, yet He will never force anyone to choose the free gift of Jesus. In a state of darkness and confusion, trading the truth for a lie becomes the condition of the human heart.

Brothers and sisters, it is our responsibility to not just pray for this world, but to be a true representation of Jesus Christ. We are living in a broken world, and the best way to start sharing the gospel is by first knowing the Father’s heart for the lost. We won’t reach them through our words alone, but through our actions, and in how we love one another.
