I have killed soooooo mannnnnny orchids! Then I found my sweet spot for keeping them alive. (I plant them in orchid bark and leca in a clear container so I can see the roots and take better care of them. There is no drainage hole, so if I overwater, I pour the excess out. They are IN MY PATH, near a window.) In the past year I've been getting new blooms on a trimmed spike, but never new spikes until the past few months. (In this picture, the blooms on top are regrowths after I trimmed back the dead bits. But that growth at the bottom? All new!) by @tiffanyrenethomas

Dear 2024 Tiffany,

I'm proud of you. You've done hard things. You've contended to be where you believe you belong, even while asking hard questions. You wrapped up the existence of a job you loved when a scandal made it obsolete. You stayed tender under scrutiny. You stayed tender while grieving. You've looked the good and the bad in the face, and remained cautiously optimistic. You've inquired of the Lord during strange times. You brought up concerns, respectfully, and constructively. You've been angry and held your peace until you couldn't, and maybe by then it was time. You've remained relational with people you could have assumed were against you. You advocated for yourself, sometimes under friendly circumstances, but sometimes less so. You've made choices about who has access to your heart. You've restricted toxicity. You chose rest when you needed it. You committed to excellence when you could have phoned it in. You look to the future. You pivot. You haven't given up. You've increased your healthy relationships. You've reconnected with people. You know what you do and don't want going forward.

You're going to have a great 2025, whether 2024 likes it or not.

Two of the things I made. (More to come.) These relate to the role scripture meditation has played in my life over the past several years. (I'm guessing that I've been part of Kirk's meditation groups for maybe seven years, but had learned the model we use back in 2008...) When I learned that my old job at Forerunner Bookstore was ending, one of my questions was about using non-branded designs I'd made. Which was absolutely allowed. (Throughout the crisis I've been grieving and processing many aspects of things.... and I also had ample time to think about how I may personally need to pivot. I already had work lined up, so I wasn't panicking about money, but rather considering how to partner with the Lord in a major change of seasons, which is still in process.) I had tons of designs that had never seen production, and now I am steadily making them available on my own. I have stuff on Redbubble. Posting some pics that I know for certain won't violate anyone's privacy. (I have family who keep their kids private, and friends who avoid flying monkeys.) If you wanna see pics of my nieces and nephews ask me in person. The final image is how high functioning ADHD ladies might happen to attempt to convey vacation plans (in and out of Virginia) via texting. Cuz words are hard sometimes, even if you're a word person. Images are: selfie now that I'm home; a couple pics from FL; stopping in Moravian Falls NC with my mom; and as I said, me trying to explain KC to STL to OH to VA to PA to VA to NC to VA to FL and back to KC. by @tiffanyrenethomas

#latergram It's been a minute since I posted anything new... I think this is from, like, a month or so ago. Went out in my kayak last Sunday, as it was warm out.... But the water and my feet were cold, so I'm calling it a wrap until spring. But in November that's hardly tragic.
