Wrapping up the first chapter of production on my upcoming film 🎬 𝙎𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝.

The past 17 days have been filled with incredible moments, unforgettable views, and plenty of challenges along the way. Through it all, I’ve had the privilege of following my friend Jake Tiger (@tiger.climbs) as he explores and develops some of Squamish’s most beautiful and tallest boulders.

Thank you Jake, for trusting me to tell this story and for allowing me to experience these incredible places alongside you. Your passion for exploration and drive to seek out new lines shine through in everything you do. It’s been an honour to witness that process firsthand and document a small part of your journey.

A huge shoutout to @climbonsquamish, @west.coast.resoles & @kayaclimbing for believing in this project and helping get it off the ground

Filming resumes in August, and we’re still looking for additional sponsors and supporters to help bring 𝙎𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙝 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝 across the finish line. If you’re interested in supporting this independent film, please share this post and help spread the word. And if your brand aligns with this project, I’d love to connect.

Triangulation (v11, FA) Tantalus Lookout Talus

A power endurance test piece with three distinct boulder problems (Fisticuffs Low, into a tricky traverse, then into Isosceles). I hadn’t done a boulder as long as this or even sport climbed really all year so efficient climbing and fighting the pump was a must. This was a great excuse for me to return to Isosceles, a boulder that means a great deal to me. This feels like a full value line. by @tiger.climbs

Five star bangggger at Cat Lake. Can be seen from the parking of the White Lion area, just uphill in the talus. It has a very flat landing, perfect rock and a beautiful view that you cant see from the other boulders in the zone because it’s perched higher on the hill. I highly recommend this one as it is quite incredible in many ways. I initially did a stand start (that would be more accessible) potentially around v7ish.
Thank goodness for my @flashedclimbing big squishy pad. Taking that fall onto one layer of pad felt chill 🤘 by @tiger.climbs

Psyched to finish this one off. A handful of sessions, some high points, some low points but inevitably knew I could do it. Felt pretty darn hard and a little condition dependent. Really fun moves, cool grips and a very flat landing. I highly recommend it! by @tiger.climbs

A couple new first ascents up in my favourite talus field. Very fun time with a good crew. Nice to see this area becoming a proper zone with lots of climbs of different varying grades and styles. Very satisfying for me to see my lines get repeats. Especially right after they’ve been cleaned! Cannonball got its 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ascents all within an hour or two of each other. It’s awesome. by @tiger.climbs

Thanks for the support today @szumilas & @_junclimbs . Another monster boulder conquered! Love of my life @maudejohnson told me about this boulder and I was blown away when I first saw it. Absolutely ginormous, intimidating and epic looking. Just to the left of an established line called Double Vision. “R” rated because the upper part has you climbing past the landing and it drops off a bit. Super fun climbing and very good rock. Crimping and technical moves way off the deck. Only detraction from the quality is the really jank landing. Moves are great though. Good flow and a brief respite in the middle. Friggin awesome one. Psyched! I had like 6 or 7 pads and I would say that is the bare minimum. Would be super impressed if anyone ever repeats this by @tiger.climbs

Once again I had a great time up at my family cottage. Got to have family time by the lake and got to see friends at the boulders. This was a joint effort FA with @slab.lover and @robinsi . Robin was kind enough to show us this area and of course my eyes lit up when I saw this tall rock. (The other) Jake sent right after me and Robin sent another line just to the right he is calling: Les Enfants du Marais (v3ish) that you can see me repeating in the second slide. Really fun day shvitzing in the heat flailing on harder boulders and putting up more moderate highballs. by @tiger.climbs

Beautiful day out on a gorgeous boulder. Big assist from @jarrett.parsons really nice to share the day with him. First tried this on another great day last year with @zacharierodrigue . It’s like skating on glassy ice, this river worn rock is impeccable. Whirls and swirls and spots and dots. The rock out here is stuff of dreams. This also marks my 50th FA this year and what a good one it is. by @tiger.climbs

Paradise City (v11ish, FA) Valley of Shaddai

This is the direct start to Live and Let Die, which is a line I established last month. Live and Let Die goes at around v8/9 and starts the same as Welcome to the Jungle (v5) but goes up and right. I figured I’d keep up with the Guns n’ Roses theme. Paradise city has a low crux move that stumped me for a few sessions. A huge left handed throw to a good gaston. Accuracy is a must. I stuck that move for the first time today, just barely with two fingers, reeled it in and then cruised to the top. Unfortunately when pulling to the lip I had an unideal foot slip that brought me rocketing towards the ground. I had misjudged the landing zone and didn’t place the pad in the right spot and landed on an uneven rock. Thankfully and surprisingly didn’t get injured. A few tries later and I was able to repeat the crux again, much cleaner this time, and topped out with a more intentional foot placement at the top. Psyched on this line. Thanks for the support @jordi.llauvi and @kenny_wi and thanks @leon.troutsky on previous sessions by @tiger.climbs
