Little project to replace the city bike that I've had for over 10 years. It looked the part, but did not handle the Irish weather at all, and frequently the bearings would become audibly crunchy. Finally I snapped. Photos so I remember what the hell I did.

Can I join the BÁC bike builders brotherhood now @phlaimeaux ?! I still remember "Saddled" from the Project Arts with @bq_is_short_but_really_catchy. Less humour was involved with this build. 😬 taken in Costa Del Glasnevin by @tigercooke

The sheer arrogance of some weeks, thinking they can be this shit and get away with it.

I find time compressing with age and the monotony of a 'proper' job. Mountains rise. Civilisations crumble. After an accidental decade away, I was trying to find my way back to music, and finally decided against all my natural instincts to seek help. By the luck of the gods (namely Emma Ní Raghaillaigh) I met the brilliant, wise, and incredibly funny Judith Mok who through trademarked secret processes, somehow coaxed sounds, words, and themes from me that I never realised I had.  I have so many recordings of our sessions that I still haven't been able to listen to.  Maybe now is that time.  Today would be her birthday.  Judith and Glen's untimely passing have left such an unfathomably colossal void.  I feel like we've witnessed a language becoming extinct.  I'm not really sure what I want to say except stop putting things off.  Call them now.  Play it today.  Or as some bizarre audience member was shouting at his last Trinity gig, "we need to go fishing!  ... No, NOW!  ... We need to go fishing now.".  I was pretty annoyed at the time, but shit.  Maybe he had a point.  Stop putting shit off.  Tabhair aire daoibhse.  Xo by @tigercooke

Various Isle of Man snaps. The second last one shows a blurry Manx sheep with four horns. They were a bit camera shy unfortunately and I didn't have the patience to hang around - there were pints and calories to have.

Port Erin to Peel. The second half was sunny and much warmer thankfully, with stunning views. We took a break in the doorway of a café in Niarbyl that had closed for renovations, found a church which had flapjacks and coffee (I did find them and donate online later!), and enjoyed the remainder of the walk into Peel, with the occasional bizarre looking Manx sheep with their four or six horns.

Port Erin to Peel. Twas a game of two halves, and the first half was windy, wet, and mostly spent in the clouds. The second photo was taken at Bradda Head - site of the winning photo from the 1931 World's Best Snapshot Competition.

Extremely rough footage of a hike from Port Erin to Peel on the western coast of the Isle of Man last month. My friend Roxanne had posted some beautiful photos from her hike on the 100km long Raad ny Foillan around the island - and I gatecrashed one leg of the hike. We started in rain, walked through a cloud, worried about hypothermia, but by the halfway point, we were taking off layers, and borrowing flapjacks & coffee from a church canteen. A lovely day was had. I will post photos at some point, but these are the videos I took on the little action camera. (Apologies for the shitty editing.)

#Rocacorba. The Rocacorba climb out of #Girona ends at some TV and radio masts on top of Puigsou, the highest point around Girona. It's about 10km of ascent with an average gradient of 7% - with some tough 15% sections near the end, when you most want them :)
The routes out of the city are pretty nice - and you can avoid a lot of the roads on gravel paths.
Love all the old Romanesque churches - this one is Sant Nicolau from the 12th century. Also I passed a 15th century bridge, Sant Andeu del Terri - restored and modernised a little to preserve the structural integrity. Safe enough for me to cycle ungracefully across it.
Also stopped to refuel by the lake at pretty Banyoles. A beautiful spot. I *wish* that's where the day ended... But on the way home, I took a "short" cut, and ended up having to scrape fine mud from the wheels, brakes, and frame several times. It turns out that light brown earth doesn't necessarily mean DRY as it would in Ireland. I basically had to hike a few kms through the woods, as the sun went down, and my battery died. Not fun. Not a great idea.
Everything else was great though! Would do again.
