Tickling brains with itchy high pitch synth and harmony twists, the housiest pick from the heady Velocette catalogue with signature psychedelic sound design. Expect exquisitely weird early minimal cuts going down the hole 🧟‍♂️

Never ever getting tired of early 2000s german House collabs such as the Voom:Voom one by Kruder, Prommer and Appel. Fierce groover hovering between House and polyrhythmic Jazz fueled by organic and funk-inducing drumwork over a dry driving baseline with cleverly timed breaks and surprises. Exquisite 10 minute composition that slots into the musical avenues of the early Compost catalogue by transcending genre boundaries finely

Recently went for another ride through Swag’s Bandcamp catalogue and the gems keep popping up. Dry & dreamy rework of Metroride that took the backseat over the first released original, the psychedelic twist in this one really makes it for me though. Everyone’s favourite House artist, and this track yet another time shows why.

Simple but exquisitely hitting Sysco groover on DJ Jes’ evergreat Fresca Recordings. Unfortunately couldn’t find more of him besides a couple Fresca appearances, would love to get more of where this came from. Relentless drums played over by effortless and cheeky jazz ambience, incredibly cool production. A minute feels way to short for this one!

Strike Boys with a butter soft gloomer that is tickling some unusual spots between Boyband House and Funk. Subtle twistedness via background arps and the 4x4 synth on the kicks (highlight!) that puts the endlessly warm and dreamy descending melody as well as the cheesy vocals into legere perspective. Playfully hovers between vibes and styles, yielding a one of a kind tune that’s home on a dancefloor as much as in any well-sorted living room.

Swayzak with a dense and dreamy rework of his wholesome Snowblind original, twisted into an absolute trip of a track. The oppressive baseline under distorted acid- and bigroom drumwork gain in impact through the obscure and psychedelic sound design around, only to be contrasted with the bright shining pads that flood the sonic scene recurrently. Swayzak is the gift that keeps on giving, absolute delight to keep discovering bright gems like this one in his catalogue.

Took some time to return to normal after the trip that was Waking Life, which felt like much more than the sum of its music, people, and grounds. Mixed feelings linger after all the beauty that was shared and the tragic loss of a fellow dancer. This track themes the manifold of emotions following the festival closing; dramatic, cathartic, beautiful, pure, bright and wide anthem played by Kia & Richard Akingbehin on Monday Morning at Floresta.

Rest in peace Sartianna 🕊️

Deep feelings on this extraordinary composition from Jori Hulkkonen under the cover name Bobby Forester. Was carrying this track for a good while but only recently fully discovered its finesse and beauty. Dramatic venture of finely intertwining repetitive chord layers, topped with this sweet slow paced key sequence trickling over the scene, my favourite piece in this exquisite track.

The Korsakow track that has been with me the longest, and the commencing european summer sets the stage for finally posting it. Sunsoaked baseline and synth pads over a refreshing and slightly breaky drum ensemble, absolutely infectious groove and atmosphere with a strong 80s tint. By far not the only gem from the early Korsakow catalogue, very happy that a share of it made it to the digital realm.
