The full thing won’t fit so you can have this smaller version. Turns out the reason I don’t usually like shooting arena familiarisation is because I’ve been doing it from the GROUND like some sort of SAD ANT. taken in Arville Equestrian by @tillyberendt

I’m having a really nice off-season so far, having finally, I think, kind of figured out the art of doing a little bit less and letting that be a productive part of the process. You know, the whole stepping away, taking a breath, finding inspiration just for the fun of it, and then coming back with a clear head to itemise what the next goals are, what skills I’d like to learn and improve upon, blah, blah, yada, yada. It’s a fancy way of saying that, like Rachel off of that one X Factor audition, I’m doing “nuffin — I’m lazy at the moment.” Normal service will resume soon; I’m running out of money, tbh.

In the midst of this necessary fallow period, though, it’s been such a lovely surprise to get the email confirming me as a finalist in this year’s World Sports Photography Awards. Like, are you kidding me? Little me, in the midst of some absolute giants? Very cool. I’ve spent the past 24 hours absolutely filling my bones with inspiration from across the categories.

Here’s my selected shot, of Great Britain’s Scott Brash and Hello Jefferson in the individual qualifier at this summer’s Paris Olympics, shot for British Showjumping. It’s a nice little full-circle that the @worldsportsphotographyawards are sponsored by @mpbcom, who I source a lot of my secondhand kit from — including the @pocketwizard IIIs I used to take this photo. Paris was my first foray into using remotes, and in the months before the Games, I was so keen to try new things and push my own boundaries there. Remotes were at the top of my list of skills to learn, but I found sourcing them nearly impossible — but luckily, MPB’s product alert feature came in clutch, and I was able to jump on a rare set the second they landed at the shop. Then, I learned on the job in France, with advice and help from the great togs I was on site with, and now, here we are — pretty cool. Can’t wait to get them out again next season!

Shot on the @nikoneurope d750 (my favourite music photography camera, and my favourite sports remote camera, until I can try a Z6III for that job — this is every inch the beg it sounds like) with the powerhouse 14-24mm f2.8. Held firmly in situ by a @gorillapod.official 🦍

@millstreet_2026 🇮🇪Another one done.

Always one of our favourite events on the calendar, and it’s been another brilliant week.

✨ Cil Dara Dynamic - 5th in the CCI3*L.
✨ Cil Dara Bombay S - 7th in the CCI4*S.
✨ Two promises - 9th in the CCI2*L

Freya and Emily both had great runs in the CCI2*L, while @kearnsrobbie had a really positive week getting to know his 3* horse, with the 2*L horses all performing brilliantly too.

A huge thank you to Michela and Molly for all their hard work throughout a busy week, and to Daisy and Amy for keeping everything running so smoothly back at home.

A fantastic team effort all round 🫶🏻

@tillyberendt 📸 Gorgeous photos thank you.

🥇🥈 U25 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 🥇🥈
TEAM 🥇 INDIVIDUAL 🥈

Ru pony, you are just phenomenal. Beyond my wildest dreams to be coming away with one medal… let alone 2 🤯🥹 One of only 4 double clears in the class. 18 years old and just pure class 😮‍💨

I am SO proud to be standing alongside these team mates. Kind, talented and unwaveringly supportive of one another. Thank you so much for making this week so special, for reasons way beyond the medals 🇬🇧🫶🏼

Liv & Joel, we couldn’t do any of this without you. Thank you for being the absolute best 🙏

Rich & Wendy, no thanks could ever be enough to express the gratitude I have for being trusted with Ru 🥹🩷

Flying #cantstopcaspar 🦋🦋🦋
