8 years in Portland and I can finally say that I absolutely love it here. Also, as a London girl, I can report that Portland is going to town on the outfits these days. Not a fleece in sight 😘

willow and i poured colors together in her backyard. we learned and played around and got curious and patient. we got messy and took dance breaks and ate plums from the trees.

later i finished with more layers and stretched the final piece at the studio. then we installed it for her mum tilly, just in time for their back to back virgo birthday party weekends.

i want more collabs like this 🩵🦋

Last night I met my favourite founder on the planet. I’ve been a fan of @aspirewithemmagrede for years. My friends and I trade episodes, lines we hear, and reading Emma’s book has helped me in areas of my life massively. She helped me own being a successful (busy AF) working mum, and see it as a good thing for Willow, having a happy fulfilled mum.

I had a few minutes to tell Emma my story, and what I have been building in manufacturing. This was a complete pinch me moment, and an honor.

Thank you @swerveitslane for creating this experience. You have that pitbull energy that I love. You have no ceiling. Portland has a thriving community of women founders changing the landscape in business, and you filled the room with the best 🩷✨ taken in Powell's Books, Inc. by @tillystasiuk

My childhood gave me a quiet kind of entitlement. ✨

Not the kind that comes from ego. The kind that comes from growing up feeling like so much had already been taken from you.

My childhood was messy, scary at times, and very unpredictable. I think something like that changes you. It gives you a different relationship with opportunity. It turns you into a pitbull when you’re onto something, and when someone finally believes in you, you refuse to let that chance slip away.

I was twenty-something, young, and full of imposter syndrome. But somewhere along the way, I decided I deserved more than where I came from.

So every meeting, every opportunity, every chance to prove myself felt like a real chance at the life I believed I was meant to have.

I wasn’t chasing success because I wanted more than everyone else. I was chasing the feeling of never having to go back to where I came from.

So I decided to never give up.

There is no bigger hustle than working the dinner rush in Soho, London.

I served tables and worked in clubs for 14 years, I didn’t realise at the time but it taught me so many life skills that I use to this day. I’ll never forget @sonymusicuk coming in for dinner, and one of the guys telling me he could get me a job as a receptionist. I said no thank you. 10 years later they became my client✨ taken in Portland, Oregon by @tillystasiuk
