There are some sponsors that make you excited because of what they're bringing to the prize table. And then there are sponsors that make you excited because of who they are.

GWAY is both of those.

We've wanted GWAY involved with Indy States for a long time. They were already part of what we were doing last year in an informal capacity, so seeing them come on board officially this year feels particularly meaningful.

Because when you look at their team, you see something pretty remarkable: a group of players who embody the absolute peak of modern yo-yoing.

GWAY's team is made up of people with wildly different styles, backgrounds, creative interests, and approaches to the art. And that's exactly why we love GWAY so much.

Sean Collins. Tim Lacanienta. Nathan Navarro.

These aren't just names on a team page. They're people who have spent years pushing their own understanding of what yo-yoing can be, and they've each developed their own voice along the way.

Sean is a perfect example. He's not just a player; he designs yo-yos around the way he wants to play. His Esper is his signature undersized throw, and it represents his idea of a “dream undersized throw.”

I filmed Tim on my @TimelessFlow5 youtube channel at worlds last year and his technicality is awe inspiring.

Nathan Navarro is an artist and a skater and his yo-yoing has that same kind of movement vocabulary you see in skating: unusual body positioning, interesting trajectories, and tricks that look like someone is exploring movement rather than simply executing a prescribed sequence.

What stands out about the GWAY team as a whole is that they're unique and glorious individuals.

They have their own reasons for throwing. Their own aesthetics. Their own obsessions. Their own way of moving a yo-yo through space.

And somehow, all of that fits under the same roof.

Thank you for believing in what we're building here.

You are everything that we hope our sponsors are.

We've wanted this one for a long time, and we're incredibly proud to finally welcome the GWAY family to Indy States. 🌀 taken in Irving Theater by @tim.tdi
