My Masterclass at @theglasshouseicm is tomorrow! Here’s another solo with transcription, this time over a 12 bar blues in A, that I will be breaking down to its basic ingredients and then cooking back up again to explain how I put it together when I wrote it.

Ticket link is in my bio.

My masterclass at @theglasshouseicm is this Thursday the 10th July! As part of it I will be discussing the techniques and musical ideas from a few solos I have written and recorded recently. Here’s a little teaser of one of those solos, a pass on Cissy Strut with full transcription! Ticket link is in my bio

If you haven’t heard of Art Lown, you’re not a… lown. But now you have! 😮‍💨 Go watch episode 7 of Among Friends, season 2 to hear the whole tune, and check out the album Piper Oz the Hound for more 70s country rock goodness.

These last few months have been such a blast: @amberrun Australia tour, @kathryntickell UK tour, and a long stint with The Bodyguard Musical in Germany.

I missed the chance for the ‘2025’ post, but here are some photos and videos of different things taken over the past few months. In no particular order, some photos from The Bodyguard Musical in Switzerland and Germany, the Ruth Lyon European Tour, Dee Dowlings album launch, New York and Croatia, and a few other bits.

Trying out a few different solo ideas for some of @iamdeedowling tracks. I’ll be playing guitar at his album launch gig at @pilgrimncl on 21st November. See you there?

Some recent goings-on, including opening The Bodyguard tour on Guitar 1 (the first video is from the exit music of the first show), summer festivals with Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening, and some other music bits. by @tim_bloomer

This year my Dad was diagnosed with cancer and it’s been hard. One way I have been dealing with it is by writing music and I wrote this piece for him. This is the solo section of a longer piece which I will put out at some point. Noah Key on the drums being a little legend and getting his parts down between a matinee and evening show on his 2nd take, recording to a really rough demo and a chart I quickly scribbled out. by @tim_bloomer

Some recent photos/videos. The end of the tour with the wonderful Kinky Boots band, I can’t say I did all 199 shows, but I reckon I did 3/4! It’s been lush to spend so much of the last 7 months with you, thanks to @lljmus1c for putting us all together, and my deps @jonny_knight_music, @darrenbellguitar and @alexward89 for covering when I was away on other things. Also some clips from one of my first gigs with @kathryntickell and The Darkening, and some other stuff including my favourite photo ever. by @tim_bloomer

It has been an amazing experience doing 4 projects in 5 countries in 5 weeks. Some photos from the ‘One Heart - Musical Stars in Concert’ shows in Shanghai, videos from The Collective at @pilgrimncl, the @kinkyboots_uk band and a country music tour in Germany/Luxemberg.

All the love to my wife @cescak for being endlessly patient and looking after me on the handful of days I was home, huge appreciation to everyone involved, and thanks to @jonny_knight_music for covering guitar 1 on Kinky Boots so I could head off to do all this stuff.
