With Oddkin. Der Lurlei, PARRI BLANK presents Tim Berresheim’s first solo exhibition at the gallery, bringing together a new body of hybrid paintings alongside, for the first time, a cast-aluminium sculpture.

Taking the myth of the Loreley as its point of departure, Berresheim develops a new body of work centred on echo, misdirection and unexpected forms of kinship. Oil paint, UV printing and aluminium merge into complex pictorial spaces, extending his exploration of the relationship between digital technologies and painting.

The exhibition also marks Berresheim’s first presentation of a sculpture within a gallery context. Developed through his digital processes and translated into cast aluminium, Der Lurlei. brings together two historic figures of the Silvani in a new, shared presence.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary image-making to PARRI BLANK. We look forward to working closely together and embarking on this exciting new chapter.

To mark the beginning of our collaboration, we are proud to present Oddkin. Der Lurlei, Tim Berresheim’s first solo exhibition with the gallery.

Bringing together new paintings and, for the first time in a gallery context, a sculpture, the exhibition marks an important new chapter in Berresheim’s practice. Rooted in mythology while embracing contemporary technologies, this new body of work explores questions of perception, kinship and image-making through a unique dialogue between painting, sculpture and digital processes.

Over the past two decades, Berresheim has established an exceptional artistic practice that brings together art history, technology, science and nature. His works are held in major public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, among others.

We look forward to welcoming you to the opening and celebrating this special moment with us.

A full house in the midst of a heatwave and in the middle of Anne-Lise Coste’s solo exhibition.

Thank you to Tim Berresheim, Nikolai Forstbauer and everyone who joined us for an evening of thoughtful questions and inspiring conversations.

The conversation was presented in collaboration with Stuttgarter Zeitung, Stuttgarter Nachrichten and kunstkontaktet.

We look forward to welcoming @timberresheim back in September for his first solo exhibition at the gallery.
