2024 was just epic!From spending the winter in the south of Spain with my van to the ruins of the Maya in Mexico, to the second largest barrier reef in Belize to the active volcanoes in Guatemala. Back to Baja to the Aquarium of the World, spending the summer months in good old Germany with a stopover for a family vacation on the Hawaii of Europe. Off to the next road trip to the mountains of Switzerland and to fascinating rock formations in the Dolomites. Enjoying island life on my current home base and celebrating the first Christmas away from my family. Making new friends and seeing old friends again. Always with my best friend Filou 🐶Thank you to everyone who has made this life possible for me and made the year so incredibly good. Sphyrna zygaena - Smooth Hammerhead 🦈 🌊 The smooth hammerhead shark is recognized for its distinctive, flattened head, enhancing its ability to detect prey through electroreception. Typically found in coastal and continental shelf waters, these sharks often form large schools, primarily comprising juveniles. As important predators, they feed on bony fishes and stingrays. However, smooth hammerheads face significant threats from overfishing, habitat loss, and the shark fin trade, leading to population declines.
