The honor of a lifetime.I can't thank everyone enough for coming out on a humid summer evening to see my @chicagosymphony debut. It was such a thrill to watch my teachers @maracafest and @vadimkarpinos rock out to my music at @raviniafestival with the CSO under the baton of @marinalsop.conductor. Watching the audience engage with the music, laughing, and cheering mid-piece was absolutely wild. She and another music teacher simply said, β€œHe wants to be in band, so let him be in band.” 🎢 She faced pushback from her peers in the district, but she was rightβ€”they were wrong. Give kids a chance to participate in the arts. One year ago I had the privilege of watching the @chicagosymphony and @marinalsop.conductor perform my double percussion concerto with soloists @maracafest and @vadimkarpinos at @raviniafestival.
