March was all about getting some very exciting promotional materials for @vile_thetudorplay at some very exciting locations! So much work that goes into putting on a play takes place sitting behind a laptop sending out emails or funding bids, so it was - frankly - sensational to be back up on our feet with wonderful creative people, getting inspired.

We captured videos, photos and plenty of social media footage so we can now dazzle and bewitch venues, producers and potential funders (including you, rich benefactor that loves Tudor history 😉😘)

We're currently editing and compiling all our footage, and sorry but it looks bloody *amazing* (how beautiful is @ordsall_hall?) so keep an eye for an update soon 🖤 by @timeandagaintc

This time last year we were on an amazing creative retreat in York, sowing seeds for little ideas that would slowly develop into much bigger ideas during our R&D of VILE later in the year.

We looked at projections, creative accessibility, traditional 16th century printing techniques, and lots of Tudor history. And there was cake. All valuable ingredients for crafting a theatre production 🖤

This year we're further exploring these ideas and growing the scope of the show as it continues to develop. Keep your 👀 peeled for updates soon! A projected mood board of ideas for the new Tudor play called VILE. It's in bright neon yellows and greens. by @timeandagaintc

If you identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or neurodivergent, or disabled, or with a mental or physical health condition:

Please help us secure funding for a series of exciting new heritage & theatre projects and opportunities in 2026 & 2027 by filling in a super short, completely anonymous survey (link in our bio)

And please share it with anyone you know. It'd really make our Christmas 🥰🙏 A neon yellow-green background with black woodcut style illustrations of magpies, plants, jousting nights, and demons surrounding text saying 'Help create exciting opportunities for 2026 & 2027'. by @timeandagaintc

"Dear heart, how like you this?"

This month, VILE took its first major steps into becoming the production we know it will one day be.

And what an incredible, talented team we had to help us.

This is just the beginning of our journey and we're so excited for what the future may hold 🖤

“Give us voice; we who blot the margins, the fallen and forgotten, the minimised and maligned.”

Join us as we present the very first preview of our brand new show VILE at @53Two on Saturday 28th June 🖤

Welcome to the court of Henry VIII. The parties are bigger, the cockfights are wilder and there’s more scandal than you can shake a jousting lance at. Frankly, it’s a bloody nightmare. Enter Jane Parker. Minor noble, major worrier. The flash, young brother of Anne Boleyn is being thrust upon her, but Jane would rather retreat to the countryside away from the crowds, pestilence and power-hungry politics of courtly life. Newly entangled with the Boleyns, Jane begins to battle intrusive thoughts that warn of constant danger. It's difficult not to lose your head when you're fighting your own mind. Will Jane crumble in a world of backstabbing and betrayal? Or will she play the game and do whatever it takes to survive?

VILE is a rude and radical re-evaluation of Anne Boleyn’s infamous sister-in-law, celebrating queer and disabled identities in an era where neither were recognised. When marginalised narratives are so often twisted and erased, the question is - does history deserve to be rewritten?
