NEWS! 🔥 In his new memoir ‘The Queerest of Folk’, Russell T Davies has explained what Doctor Who Season Three might have looked like…

(Would highly recommend RTD’s book - thoroughly enjoying what I’ve read so far 😊)

I am heartbroken that these episodes went unmade. The Jack Thorne script sounds particularly exciting. And that Dalek four-parter?! 😭 Disney, I’m so mad at you for taking that from me. RTD always wrote such strong Dalek stories!

What do you think of these plans? Are you as mad as me that we’ll never get to see these episodes? Start a discussion in the comments.

The Doctor Who tender process heats up! 🔥

New reports from @deadline indicate Line of Duty creator @jed_mercurio is among those bidding for Doctor Who!

Swipe to read about all the production companies looking to create the next incarnation of Doctor Who ➡️

What do you think of the news? I personally would be over the moon if Jed Mercurio took on Doctor Who, I absolutely adore Line of Duty and would love to see the public get just as excited about his version of Who as they do about Line of Duty! Start a discussion in the comments.

In light of Russell T Davies’ memoir extract released by The Guardian yesterday, here’s a complete timeline of what happened to the Doctor Who 2026 Christmas Special – from its commission through cancellation. Plus, plot details!

Can’t believe we missed out on one final Dalek story from Russell T Davies – maybe one day he’ll be convinced to write the story as a novel? But, as painful as it is to admit, I suppose I agree with Davies; I’d rather the BBC “put your energy and imagination into the future,” and help Doctor Who’s next chapter to thrive.

How do you feel about the cancellation of the Christmas special? Davies’ words have definitely calmed my initial bitterness about the cancellation; he and the BBC clearly felt this was the best move to allow the show to move forward. Start a discussion in the comments!

Doctor Who’s return is one step closer! The first stage of the tender process has now closed, as the deadline for potential production companies to submit their eligibility form has now passed. The BBC will now assess eligible tenderers and invite them to submit a short editorial proposal by 23 October.

Yep, I’ve read the Doctor Who tender document so you don’t have to 😎 Here are some of the key points…

What do you make of the invitation to tender? Start a discussion in the comments. I’m pleased the BBC wants a production company with a fresh creative vision, but I’m very surprised the document didn’t specify a structure or episode count. Also shocked they’re aiming for a 2028/29 release, how exciting! 😁

Hope this isn’t too controversial as a discussion point… as much as I love Christopher Eccleston’s Ninth Doctor, I actually think his short tenure helped secure Doctor Who’s twenty-year success. Swipe to read why ➡️

What do you think? Start a discussion in the comments! Remember, this is just my opinion, I’m sure plenty of you will disagree 😆

NEWS! Billie Piper discussed her role in the future of Doctor Who at yesterday’s For the Love of Fantasy & Sci-Fi Convention in London

Video from @PositivityWho on Twitter/X. Transcript below:

“I am not the next Doctor. I am Rose Tyler in hiatus. Sorry, that’s a really cryptic answer. But I’m not currently filming Doctor Who as the Doctor. I can’t lie and say otherwise. I’m sweating, I hate this!”

“I think you’ve all got to be very patient, because it’ll be worth it when it comes.”

“I think that we need to celebrate the fact that... [the revived show has] been around for a very long time, it’s massively successful, and it’s impacting so many people’s lives positively.”

“It’s had a bit of a rough time lately, and I think everyone just needs to chill out and wait for what comes from having space and time.”

What do you make of Piper’s comments? Start a discussion below!

Yes, that’s right. Timeless Who is back after a brief absence. Rest assured, a fresh new lease of life for the account is already underway behind the scenes.

A fun fact from Doctor Who Series 5! Had you noticed that the same location was used to film The Vampires of Venice and Vincent and the Doctor? 🇭🇷

Still haven’t completely processed that the 2005 revival of Doctor Who has effectively come to an end - but it’s kinda neat that Billie Piper both opened and closed the 2005-25 era 😌
