It's been a long wait.

The Omega Planet Ocean has been on my wish list since 2005, but life's responsibilities came first. Now retirement is in my near future.

When the Gen. 4 came out, I realized that the Gen.3 with the 8900 Master chronometer movement was the one I wanted and it had to be blue.

I found this new 2025, (the last year produced) and decided it was time, before they became scarce.

The matching blue ceramic bezel and dial are just stunning and change with the light. The 8900 Master chronometer Co-axial movement is as beautiful as it is remarkable. It has currently been running +1 sec for the last 2 weeks! The twin barrels provide 60hrs. of reserve which is great.

I'm glad I waited and that my patience paid off... this time.

I am beyond thrilled to finally have my dream Omega become reality.

The Seiko Shogun is a solid watch, but the Ti is so light that It took me awhile to get used to. It has held up quite well over the years. The crystal, not so much.

The one I almost passed on...

I found this watch in a clearance case a long time ago, when I was still new to watches. I was not over whelmed when I saw it, but I was intrigued that it was a mechanical chronograph.

I was a bit leary because it was priced so low. (Less than a "cheap" G-Shock!)
I asked to see it and checked that everything worked properly, which it did. I was not excited about the color back then, and I left the store without it.

By the time I got back in my car, I thought that there was no way I would ever find a mechanical chronograph for that price, even though my wife was probably going to be pretty mad.

We didn't have a lot of money for such frivolous things, especially with two young children. I decided it was worth the fallout, and I went back in.

A couple of weeks later, I took the watch to Tourneau to have it verified for a possible trade. I was delighted with their offer and that it was real. Obviously, I kept it and considered myself extremely fortunate.

Today, some 20 years later, I've come to really appreciate this watch. I love the Telemeter scale, and the copper/brown sunburst dial is quite special.
