Hey-Smith [Welcome "Two" Caffeine Bomb Tour 2025]
09/17 - Zepp Yokohama
Support: OwL

My first time seeing Hey Smith, who I have been a fan of since COVID lockdown. I had been looking forward to this moment for years.

I was close to the front for both Hey Smith and OwL. It was crazy with the push, the crowd surfers, the singing, the moshing. It was everything I dreamed of. I feel accomplished.

I did nearly lose my glasses in the first 15 seconds, and bit my lip, hurt my elbow from fist pumping too hard, lots of aches and pains but it was worth it.

Thank you to the crowd for being welcoming, for giving me a fist bump or raising 🤘towards me. And thank you @moppy_caffeinebomb for the brief hello after OwL!

Hopefully I don't need to wait 3-4 years for next time. @hey_smith_japan please visit Japan someday.

@damnationfestival (Night of Salvation and Damnation Proper) - Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd November.

Such a great time and good to catch up with friends. I did miss the two headliners due to leaving early with the IPA beers hitting me. A great event if you like a mix of death metal/other metal genres.

I took a decent ISH amount of photos and videos of bands, so I'm posting five of the ones I thought were actually decent enough photos for here. It helps that some of these sets were my favourites of the weekend.

Of bands not pictured, I also particularly enjoyed 200 Stab Wounds and Enforced.

1. Employed to Serve
2. Gatecreeper
3. Nails
4. Bleeding Through
5. Discharge

1&2 - @faintest_idea - The Road to Sedition (2023).
3&4 - @cmmalcolmband - Echoes & Ghosts (2024).

It's been awhile since I've got the record player set up, but it seems like a good afternoon to play some UK Ska punk goodness.

If I had last year's Random Hand LP, that would be a good triple threat.

@drain831 - Living Proof (2023)

Dusting off the record player for the first time in awhile, going with one of the LPs that arrived from @devildogdistro last week.

Cali hardcore Drain released one of my favourite albums last year, so after seeing it available while buying something else, I had to get. Loving the green galaxy kinda colour on the LP itself.

I will see if I post some more like this alongside trying to post random stuff more regularly on here.

Judas Priest (and Saxon, and Uriah Heep) were great last week!

First big gig like this with my dad, and we both had a great time. It was nice to be seated instead of near a mosh pit like usual 😅.

After seeing them a couple times at festivals, seeing @employedtoserve in a small room was mega.

Also @goingoffhc and @pupilslicer were great support! taken in FAC251 - Factory Manchester by @timlumb

While She Sleeps headline show at the 10,000(?) capacity Alexandra Palace (Ally Pally).

Weird to think the last time I saw them was 2022 at a 500 capacity venue. Same energy.

Two times seeing Paledusk in 3 days (London supporting @boocrue, their first UK show, and their first headline show in Manchester). A couple videos, just 3 photos from the 2 gigs and 1 that was usable/editable.

Like Maximum the Hormone, I was supposed to see Paledusk at Knotfest Japan 2020. Covid happened.

I am very happy to be able to say they are brilliant live. Using the backing tracks for the needed Paledusk sounds, but Kaito sounded ace and the guitarists ripped up the place both nights.

First photo is from Manchester, second photo from outside the London venue

🎸Band: Paledusk
🌍 Location: Star and Garter, Manchester
📅 Date: Tues 4th July

The love for Jinjer at Resurrection Fest was obvious.

From Ukraine, they got special permission to leave their country to perform at European festivals. Brilliant live band.
