We often see them traveling together, but rarely are they this organized. The oceanic white tip and the short-finned pilot whale consistently travel the open ocean together.

Reminiscing on our hammerhead season, if you can even call it that. Once or twice in a Hawaiian blue moon and with a great deal of luck involved you’ll find these scalloped hammerhead schools coming to the surface to sun themselves and socialize.

The texture on their strange heads, size and shape of one of these creatures up close is incredible to witness - only to have the show stolen by the awe inspiring effect of 70 of them swimming in unison.

Cruising with some of the locals the other day , Hawaiin melon headed whales.

Often observed cruising with hundreds of their counterparts , playing with or harassing other cetaceans , these whales lead a curiously balanced life between solitary and social.
