Taking a moment to process the last year.

This time last year, after feeling deeply lost, like I couldn’t see a foot in front of me, I took a random opportunity to work on the holiday install at Union station. Since then, my world has bloomed.

Through saying yes to all the odd jobs along the way, I was welcomed into the KC film scene by so many fantastic, kind, deeply passionate people.

Got my first IMDB credit like a bawsss

In the past 8 months I’ve been fortunate to work on 4 feature films, 3 short films, and a music video! What!!! Something I never even considered a possibility.

It’s physically, and mentally challenging at times but that makes it all the more rewarding.

Every day is a different world.

With different people.

In different places.

It’s a lot of fun.

Got to stock tpains dressing room with cough medicine.

And because I found something that is creatively challenging, my own practice has bloomed as well. I can not stop making things!

I got to create a heart for the Parade of Hearts.

I made 4 new editions of Missy Laneous, my ongoing project where I document all things I watch, and listen to into a quarterly video scrapbook.

I’m so proud 🥲

I was also asked to design the annual awards for KCAI Graphic Design, and recently went back to visit with students and share my lettering work, something that was always a secret goal of mine.

As of last week I am doing it all again! Back at Union Station for the 2026 holiday install. Right where I want to be :)

So much can change in a year. I’m proud of myself for embracing the unknown.

There is always something. Always an opportunity to make something or learn something. by @timotheechaperone

I was over the moon when I found these photos in my grandpa Wayne’s heap of albums. I had never seen a photo of him when he was a kid. He passed away last night, and now all I can see is him as a kid. I’d like to imagine him and my grandma Linda are garage sale hopping somewhere right now. by @timotheechaperone
