Loud for all to hear: Being a professional singer and voice teacher is HARD WORK that often takes years of training and dedication. Not to mention the mental, physical and emotional fortitude necessary to be successful in this business.

It’s not every day that you get to see your face on a Jumbotron…

I had the *best* time singing for the @pittsburghpirates game today. Core memory unlocked 🖤💛

Here’s a little glimpse into rehearsals for @gildalyons’ An Anchor in Time, from the orchestra perspective! The second movement reaches all the way back to the beginning of the universe, setting the words that were printed in the New York Times in 1961 when the discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation provided crucial evidence supporting the Big Bang theory.

This piece launches our thrilling 14th season with a bang TOMORROW (Sunday 9/27) at 3:00 pm at the @carnegiecarnegiepa

Featuring the Resonance Chamber Orchestra, a 38-person Festival Chorus, and acclaimed soloists @timothiwilliams and @danielteadtvoice , this special program reflects on time and memory.

Featuring Gilda Lyons’ piece of the same name, Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, and a choral time capsule with music spanning NINE centuries from Hildegard von Bingen to the present day, this is an afternoon of music you won’t want to miss.

I’m so excited to revisit (and record!) @gildalyons’ An Anchor in Time with @resonanceworks this weekend! The piece is so bright, uplifting, exuberant, and profound all at the same time, with a mix of texts considering time and memory and perspective. Every movement has a moment (or several) that brings tears to my eyes, but for different reasons. This was perhaps the most surprising to me when we premiered the piece 3 years ago - the cheerful and groovy setting of 11-year old Lark’s words describing how much she is looking forward to going to England and riding a double-decker bus. How brilliantly Gilda captures the curiosity and awe and wonder in Lark’s words and how brilliantly @timothiwilliams embodies her music. It reaches that soft spot inside that reminds me of feeling those things as a young person myself, and maybe makes be wish I could access that innocent wonder now more often…

This program feels like an outpouring of love and soul and humanity… with some of the BEST artists I know. I hope you’ll come to experience it with us on Sunday in Carnegie. by @timothiwilliams

We are so thrilled to welcome @timothiwilliams back to the Resonance Works stage, reprising her performance of @gildalyons ’s An Anchor in Time.

Timothi is a Resonance Works fan favorite! In addition to singing the world premiere of An Anchor in Time in 2019, she’s also appeared in The Jungle Book, The Little Prince, La donna del lago, Macbeth, Rigoletto, Bach’s B Minor Mass, and is a member of the Reson8 Vocal Octet.

You won’t want to miss Timothi’s full array of “plush and solid lower tones to the soaring high ones” (onStage Pittsburgh) on September 27! Tickets and information are available at the link in our bio! by @timothiwilliams

From West Virginia to Wall Street Journal..

I hope this girl knows that she’s going to get there—even if she doesn’t know how to start. That she’s going to meet amazing people and sing in amazing places and that not compromising those dreams will catapult her into new opportunities that she couldn’t have imagined. That quietly in the background of a spring musical, was a hope that there was more out there, and that every step, no matter how small, would lead the way toward more wonderful people and music. I hope that there are other kids, in other auditoriums, in other ensembles quietly dreaming the same dreams—and that they, too, have folks in their programs fostering the belief that they can do it.

There were so many amazing moments of creating art this year. Grateful for this musical life and every connection it creates. Cannot WAIT for some of the seeds planted in 2025 to grow in 2026.

Was just singing through this piece in my office when @dominicoreyespiano popped by to say hello and played it down for me. My life is filled with such beautiful music and people. Feeling blessed ❤️

From Eric Whitacre’s Goodnight Moon:

Goodnight kittens, Goodnight mittens, Goodnight clocks and Goodnight socks, Goodnight little house, Goodnight mouse, Goodnight comb, Goodnight brush, Goodnight nobody, Goodnight mush, and Goodnight to the old lady whispering, “hush”.
