Here’s some abstract botanical stuff I cooked up for Jennifer recently, also featuring an older tattoo on her back that we reworked to match her new taste. Sometimes old tattoos aren’t bad at all, they just don’t line up with your vibe anymore, but we can usually have a little tutu and make them fit the vision. First picture is healed, second is fresh and the third is how we reworked the old piece and added some more foliage to bridge the gap.

This one is a little different from my regular style, but the other week @lalhardy and @_._.mang._._ from @newwavetattoo were lamenting the old days of smashing out Taz tattoos day-in and out, and proposed the idea of “Taz day” where tattooists were encouraged to celebrate the legacy of our old marsupial mate on the anniversary of his debut- June 19th.

Unfortunately I was already busy on that day but I loved the idea so I went ahead and drew up a sheet of old Looney Tunes characters and added my own spin on them. I took a few suggestions for characters from you guys, but sadly I didn’t have the time or space to squeeze them all in!

I’ve also added a few slides right at the end of some old vintage flash featuring the man himself. It seems kind of silly compared to a lot of the serious business subject matter most tattooists are doing day to day, but cartoons have been a huge part of tattooing since it sprang up in the west, and these days the huge popularity of anime tattoos probably says something deep and meaningful about finding comfort in nostalgia and the elevation of pop culture into mythology… or something. Here’s a rabbit and some coverup lettering I tattooed a while back. The rabbit is based on a flash piece I drew up, and I’ve done a few other variations in different poses with different tattoos and piercings too. I got a new phone late last year and forgot I had a billion unposted tattoos from my old one, so I’ve been going through and finding all kinds of good stuff.
