BIO - Tim Patrick

I see a lot of new people following my work and journey so I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

My name is Tim Patrick and I moved to Austin in 2007. I initially moved here to do music, working in the service industry to fund my passion.

In 2009 I met my to be mentor Rudolph Leon-Guerrero. He encouraged me to go to cosmetology school and study Vidal Sassoon cutting methods.

What I thought would be a trade, soon became my obsession. I fell in love with the craft of haircutting, and accelerated quickly with it, apprenticing for a year and half under Rudolph and Kari at Karu Salon. I was given a tremendous foundation to build my career.

Education quickly became a pillar of my life. attending and instructing as many classes as possible. Studying under some of the most innovative haircutters in the world.

In Early 2017 I had an opportunity to move to Los Angeles. I kind of left kicking and screaming as Austin is my home, but the opportunity was too good.

After a lot of consideration I accepted a position at Spoke and Weal LA. Going through a second apprenticeship of one year, I trained under the expertise of Lindsay Victoria, Jon Reyman, Dell Miller and Christine Thompson.

After over six years in LA fighting and succeeding in one of the most crowded and competitive hair cities in the world, I have moved back to Austin.

In March of 2023 we opened @spokeandweal Austin. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be back! I am highly trained and view haircutting as a technical craft and a high art. A haircut is not an add on service to your hair color. Very few stylists are great at both

Patrick is an old friend of mine. He’s from Austin but currently lives in Memphis and serves on the Memphis Fire Department.
He made the trek down to get his Covid hair in order. Don’t get me wrong, he pulled off long! But this length is fire on him! 🔥

I told her “I don’t want to be pigeon holed into being the bob guy or a bob specialist. I’ve been a cutting specialist for 16 years. Any length or shape I am skilled and experienced at creating.”
