Really honoured to do some factory sound design for Gforce Software.

Today Gforce release the Sequential Prophet~5 plugin. Sequential has collaborated with GForce Software to ensure the original synthesizer is encapsulated in an authentic virtual instrument.
It sounds amazing and the full MPE compatibility is an absolute win.

It’s been five years since I’ve done any sound design professionally, I’ve not pursued it and that’s entirely down to my availability. Now I’ve returned, and I return first with Arturia’s release of Memory V.

I have to say I was blown away by the sheer tone and quality of Arturia’s Memory V, when I started experimenting with it. I’m a brutal judge on the natural tone of a synthesizer. Filter open wide and a single saw tooth oscillator. For me, there are some real duds out there, even some vintage analogue hardware that’s supposed to be top-tier, but just doesn’t deliver. On the flip-side, Arturia’s Memory V wowed me and that is rare.

It’s humbling to have worked alongside such talented and dedicated sound designers over the years such as John Bowen, Richard Devine, Tatsuya Takahashi and on this project, Drew Schlesinger.
These sound designers program the presets that ship with an instrument; the presets should showcase the sound and provide the end-user with a springboard of possibilities.
‘Synfluencers’ are incredibly valuable for visually exploring, discussing and marketing a new instrument, but sound designers shouldn’t have to become YouTubers to prove their worth.
It’s reassuring to know that some companies are still choosing seasoned sound designers for factory presets as it really shows credibility on both sides. by @timplease37

Four voice.

The video is not in sync as I just edited down to some good bits and couldn't be bothered to match it up. I found the secret of this four voice is to change each device very slightly to create the best texture.
