Anthony finished 5th at State today!

An awesome finish to his Junior season. This dude works so hard and never complains or questions anything. Full trust in his training and coaching.

I struggle to coach him because of my own fear as a father. But again, he trusts his training and coaching.

He now owns the fastest time in school history by a Blue Jay at the state meet. Finished 5th, which ties him for the 4th highest finish in school history. And… finishes higher than his dad/coach ever did!

The last 14 days have been a huge breakthrough in his career and this momentum can lead to a huge track season.

Quick shout out to Coach Perez.

I feel like this guy hasn’t gotten his due. For the amount of years he put into our school and city, the departure hasnt seemed as important as it should be… He was thrown into the head coach position after coming to JC to be an assistant. Upon taking over the program grew and the win totals grew right along with it. From a team with single digit wins for nearly 10 seasons, to consistent double digit win seasons.

He led JCHS to the State Tournament and winning a Centennial League Championship.

Coach Perez allowed me to join the boys staff after years as the girls coach. He trusted me, believed in me, and helped me. We grew as colleagues and close friends. Our families grew together, and loved each other. Coach and Ashley Perez cared for my wife and kids as if they were their own. I love and miss Ashley, Evelyn, Maizey, and Shelbi already. Seeing the girls and Olivia play always made me happy witnessing their friendship at such a young age. Watching Anthony and Alex run around with all four of the little ones then immediately get bullied buy the girls are great memories. The kids care for eachother after so many years together.

Our players loved P. P loved our players.

His time is done at JCHS and the Lone Jack, Missouri players and community are lucky to have him.

As a coach he’s awesome and knows so much ball. As a friend he is fun loving, joyful, funny, and dedicated. He keeps a close circle and doesn’t let people in easily, but once you’re in, you’re in. He will always take care of his people.
