New tuneee „Tobcult - Secret In My Mind“

„Secret In My Mind“ is all about that secret late night thing you can’t tell anyone about. The 2am texts, sneaking out before sunrise, acting like it’s nothing while you fall harder every night.

dang, what a ride. on the 01.05. i dropped this tune and it’s on track to be my most successful one yet. funny enough it started as “ah let’s just do a quick one to get the release calendar going” and somehow it became people’s favorite.
i don’t really like sharing raw stats and this isn’t meant as a brag. but one of the sadder realities in this industry is that numbers are often the first thing that decides whether bigger artists/labels/people even give you a shot. you can know everything there is to know and some still won’t bother listening (social proof 😒). (though shoutout to all the dutch people i’ve met along the way - you guys actually look past the numbers, love that.)

but tbh, you don’t really wanna work with the „numbers only“ ppl anyway, right?

anyway. trying to put my name out there more, eventually move toward songwriting and co-working with other artists, and this felt like the right move. run my own thing again, prove to myself (mostly to myself tbh) that everything i taught myself over the years actually works. you never stop learning btw😀

also kind of needed this after a rough experience 1-2 years ago - worked for free trying to build something for someone else, got ignored every time i tried explaining how things work, and ended up taking the blame when it didn’t, without ever really getting a fair shot. walked away from that, no regrets.

so yeah, this felt like proof i wasn’t just talking nonsense (classic INTP move - spent more time validating the idea than actually doing it lol).
only way is up i guess.🧡 by @timtestination
