A beautiful vixen lives in the fields not far from my home 🌳 I’ve seen the tracks before, but she is very elusive 🦊

I discovered an old hunting chair today, so I hunkered down for a few hours in the late afternoon 🪑 she trotted along the fence and stopped only a few meters from my hideout 🌳 I must have looked a bit suspicious to her… 🥷🏻

Have you ever seen a Bittern? 🪶

This was my very first time to ever came across one, and quite frankly I didn’t expect it to be quite this brash and enormous in flight 🤯 almost the size of a heron, and much chunkier!

Bitterns are usually quite secretive birds, and their camouflage is so good that it is nearly impossible to spot them. With their long necks, they even imitate the swaying of the reeds around them 🌾

Some lifers you just stumble across almost by accident 🍀

I saw my very first Wryneck today at a bird ringing morning 🪶

What a truly unforgettable experience!

Half a beak, whole lot of attitude 🖤🤍👊🏼

This Eurasian Magpie proves that even with a little less to work with, you can still thrive. Filmed on my terrace, looking well-fed and full of life 🌰

Nature’s resilience in its finest form. What a little fighter! 🐦✨

…because most of the time while hunting, Common Buzzards sit around waiting, observing and conserving energy 🦅

Which makes witnessing moments like these even more special ✨
