good news the mass is benign and bilingual! from my diary + ongoing seinfeld marathon.

recently my daily life has been full of self-reflection and growing pains. i’m continuing to acknowledge and show compassion for the patterns in my life; how i see myself, my actions, how i relate with others, debilitating perfectionism.

i’m grateful i can channel existential dread / terror from apocalyptic weather in nyc + general trauma into art!

A short clip of @tinguu speaking with @mangaberg about his body horror lesbian comic, The Cannibals, published by @fieldmousepress. This was a few weeks ago at @fantomcomics as a part of their pre-SPX event! Filmed by @_phantasyviolence_

Highly rec checking out this comic… the packaging alone is worth it.

there’s still time to donate to THE CANNIBALS kickstarter. three new stories. bonuses galore. gorgeous gold-foiled hardcover. ❣️

👄💬 comic titans say:

🩻 "The Cannibals reverberates like an anguished howl that rattles the entire house. The unfathomable depth of a single human life is exposed in excruciating glimmers just as it is extinguished before your eyes. Page by page, in quick and deceptively delicate steps, you are whisked through sexual consummation and simultaneous literal consumption. Tinguu deftly depicts what so many supernatural romances are too squeamish to execute with any real clarity; total life absorption in all its glorious weirdness. By the final image of Tinguu’s masterpiece graphic novella, you might wonder if your own features haven’t also been washed away.”
— ezra david mattes, the draculas, a terrified child played by jeremy strong @ezrazone

🫦“The Cannibals is seductive and queer love letter to horror, sex and monsters, while giving a nuanced take on abusive relationships, duality and the disposal of dead bodies.” — Gigi Murakami, AUTHOR of RESENTER @gigi_murakami

THE CANNIBALS is... a story about queer desire, trauma, and a subversion of the classic vampire story that asks "who is the real predator here?"

Join us on @kickstarter and help us make this beautiful hardcover book by @tinguu. We've got a lot of great extras (courtesy of @cart.press !!!)

i had a silly dream of writing manga when i was 12 and that was quickly extinguished by forces larger than baby me at the time. with no formal art training, i had the crazy idea of writing a comic during covid and my life has never been the same.

i can’t believe the cannibals was reviewed by @comicsbeat + made front page (i found out 5 days later cause i suck at keeping up with the news and my phone) + the review warmed my cold heart. thank you sm. 🖤 taken in Ridgewood by @tinguu
