i am a PADI certified scuba instructor! i have never ever been happier.

scuba divig has saved my life. when i first discovered diving, i was in a really dark place; i was on a downward spiral. i had the chance to participate in a liveaboard in highschool and took that as a break from my dark life. i may have been narced, but i remember distinctly on a dive around Diamond Rock, Saba, thinking "why have i ever wanted to take myself out of this world when there are things like this left to see."
so, i kept getting certifications. i got my PPB, wreck and night dive specialty. I did my rescue diver in a local lake in wisconsin, i tapped into my college fund to get my Divemaster, and i kept focused on becoming the diver i dreamed of.
This summer, i interned with the company that first certified me. i helped guide a group of girls into becoming aware and competent advanced divers. watching them also fall in love with my passion was an indescribable joy. i got to relive a life changing adventure through their eyes, and it was just so full-circle for my diving career. it helped solidify my drive to become an instructor myself and pass my love along to all the other "Lucys" out there.

i dont know where this journey is taking me next, but i am beyond thrilled to ride this ride. i already have some incredible opportunities blooming, which makes me all the more excited.

a very gen z wreck dive on the Superior Producer :3
chill tour down the side stairs, into the captains corders and through the engine room: hopefully leading the way next time ;)

still very green as far as restrictions are concerned ! but as a diver coming from the Great Lakes, wrecks hold a special place in my scuba heart <3 planning more and more wrecks and penetrations to come out without rust-covered fins.... yay!

took my crazy pirate dive buddy back to his favorite site to get narced. what a relaxing sunday it was 😅
fighting current that made our bubbles blow sideways, finding a prized frogfish with an NDL of 3.... diving with a rock and no weights... dive instructors off the clock have fun !

#padi women in dive day
i have been trained by women from my first discover dive, Open Water, up to Dive Master, and am now honored to be training women through the very same path. i have been lucky enough to have grown as a diver surrounded by women; i didnt even realize this was a male dominated field.

after working as a dive professional, I have heard all the nicknames, doubts, all the comments about the color on my kit, offering to help ME with MY gear, and even help take it off...

being a woman, especially a young woman, in the professional diving world makes me a stand out. rather than being a target, i will stand out as an example. I will inspire other women, i will train confidence and open up the underwater world to girls everywhere.

we are women AND we go diving
