With the weather cooling down I’m finally able to wear this amazing YuYu Hakusho varsity jacket I received earlier this year from @bosumanapparel ! ✨ I really loved the added detail of including a few quotes from the series on the front of the jacket and along the sleeve, also the chibi versions of the characters are always adorable to see 🥹 Definitely a must have for any YuYu Hakusho fan to have as a part of their wardrobe 💗

Gunbuster, a true Gainax classic that was directed by the iconic Hideaki Anno! Despite it just being an OVA, it still holds up to this day and in my opinion and I’ve always been fond of the art style and character designs. Definitely one of my favorite additions in my laserdisc collection. If I cared enough about cosplay again, I’d totally be down to be Noriko 🤷🏻‍♀️

In my opinion, Gunbuster needs to be appreciated more than Neon Genesis Evangelion (don’t come in trying to argue, I said what I said. love ya’ll.)

found team toguro out in the wild, somehow they followed me home 🤌🏼 there’s just something so silly about these giant heads and big smiles on these terrifying characters 🫪

*also the employee who helped me get them out of the display case was so sure they were from inuyasha 😅

Coming through with a heavy hitter today and my personal favorite of all time! Anyone who knows me knows much I absolutely LOVE Yu Yu Hakusho. I’ve spent so many years rewatching the series since it first aired and have met the most important people in my life from this series alone. It’s my ultimate goal to own Yu Yu Hakusho on every form of physical media and believe it not (probably not shocking to most) I’ve almost reached that goal 😭 This reel took FOREVER to edit!! I had to speed it up a little in order for it to even be uploaded and filming with one hand isn’t easy. 🙃
We also have some honorable mentions in the video if you look closely. 😉 💗 Enjoy!

AHHHH I love Fushigi Yugi so much!! 😭😭 No really, anytime I meet another fan of Fushigi Yugi out in the wild it’s like finding a unicorn since I feel like the series does not get the appreciation and love it deserves! Isekai, shōjo fantasy AND romance along with beautiful art, music and an all-star cast?! Yuu Watase, the icon that you are 🥹 📕

Anime NYC photo dump! I only attended for two days which was more than enough (my toes still hurt) but I made the most out of it! I think I spent more time yapping with cosplayers and artists about different anime series we love over anything else but I definitely felt myself chasing the nostalgia and just living in the moment. As always I loved running into friends and meeting new people along with those I’ve followed online and creating new memories. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been attending Anime NYC since year one and to see how big it’s grown over the years. Here’s to all the magnesium and epsom salt baths I took over the last few days. 😅

Aiya! Finally got to cosplay as best girl Shampoo during Anime NYC! 🫧 I’m such a huge fan of Rumiko Takahashi and her work! It was refreshing to run into so many people that recognized Ranma 1/2 and to hear their shared stories of growing up with the series 🥹 RUMIKO TAKAHASHI SUPREMACY!!!!

Stopped by @mangaspotnyc for the first time to check it out and left with my BIG BOI (who is also heavy!) I had no intention of coming home with anything but I love Younger Toguro BAD and ya’ll know I don’t play about him 😤 Also included an updated shelfie which doesn’t even show 20% of my entire YuYu Hakusho collection but that’s all you’re getting from me for now 🫶🏼

When I saw that @kodansha_en @kodanshamanga was releasing a 30th anniversary edition of Mars, you know I had to pick up a physical copy from @kinokuniyausa 🩵 I started reading Mars years ago and honestly never finished the series entirely but I’m looking forward to revisiting it again!
With the way the landscape of media is moving and pushing us to buy everything digital, there’s nothing more refreshing and comforting than actually owning pieces of any form of media and makes me realize that what I do is unique and special in its own way. #physicalmedia over EVERYTHING! 🫧
