Somewhere at the bottom of Uvita Waterfall in Costa Rica lives my @insta360 X5. ☠️

I went for the epic shot… and Costa Rica said absolutely not.

But honestly, losing the camera somehow turned into one of my favorite stories from this trip. People I had JUST met through the diving community offered to go back to the waterfall after I had already left Costa Rica, put on scuba gear, and search for it. 🥹 They didn't have to do that. They just did.

THAT is the part of this story I'll remember.
Costa Rica showed me so much kindness, and the diving community once again reminded me why I love being part of it. Divers really do show up for each other — sometimes apparently to conduct underwater search-and-rescue missions for each other's terrible financial decisions. 😂

To @kris10harris @fidiving @kristi.ward24 and @costaricadiveandsurf — THANK YOU. Seriously. You guys are incredible. ❤️
The X5 may officially belong to the waterfall now, but the people I met were worth way more than the camera.

Soooo… ziplining in the rain is WAY more fun. 😂 @osa_canopy_tour

We had a few days in Costa Rica and way too much we wanted to do, so a little rain was not about to ruin the plans.

And by “a little rain” I mean it started POURING while we were on the mountain.

Somewhere along the way I also learned that I can apparently rappel upside down out of a tree with zero practice?? Cool. New skill unlocked.

These ziplines were also WAY higher and faster than I expected. We were flying through the jungle with waterfalls below us and views all the way out to the coast of Uvita. Absolutely insane.

Then our guides disappeared without telling us what was happening… only to come back with the truck we went up the mountain in. Next thing you know Kristi and I are soaking wet, bundled up in raincoats, bouncing around in the back of it going back down this steep muddy mountain and absolutely dying laughing.

And yes, apparently you CAN stop on a wet zipline. We tested that theory. ✅️

Rainy season gets such a bad reputation, but we had sunshine most of the time we were in Costa Rica. When it did rain, it cooled everything off and honestly just became part of the adventure.

And shoutout to my favorite sidequest partner @kristi because she found so many of the things we did on this trip and will apparently follow me into just about any questionable adventure

I’ll take a slightly chaotic trip with stories like this over a perfectly planned vacation ANY day.

Turns out you can fit a LOT of wild into 4 days in Costa Rica.
We came for the diving and still managed to pack an entire adventure movie into 3–4 days.

🤿 Scuba diving Isla del Caño
🌊 Chasing waterfalls
🐠 Diving with some VERY cool locals @costaricadiveandsurf
🌴 Exploring Uvita + the Costa Rican jungle
🚗 Road-tripping through one of the prettiest places I've ever seen
🤍 And meeting amazing people

Costa Rica was worth it 👌

If you're a diver, don't sleep on the Pacific side. Isla del Caño was the whole reason we planned this trip, but Uvita ended up being the kind of place where you could wake up with absolutely no plan and somehow end the day with a story.

And if you're one of those people who thinks you need 7–10 days to make an international trip “worth it”...

Consider this your sign to just book the 4 days. You can sleep when you get home. 😂

Would you guys want me to post our actual 4-day itinerary like where we stayed, dove, explored + what I'd do differently?
