A new house does not have to create a feeling of newness when living inside. Sometimes, a new house rather invokes the feelings of the past, of familiarity, of good memories.

Every house begins with a personal story.
For the client, it was a memory of living among British townhouses. Rather than taking the form of the townhouses as it is and drop it to Yogyakarta, we took its essence. Because the things we carry from one place to another are often what makes a house feel like home.

Semua rumah punya cerita.

Landscape strategy for a competition. We look back at old maps to investigate what was there before and apply it as a landscape regeneration strategy to minimize flooding, maximizing biodiversity, and intensifying agriculture

“Lumbring” or lumbung pengering is a drying barn pavilion used to dry herbs for the local community, while also giving space to sit, relax, and socialize. By the way there were 6 cats in our previous post 😉

This small community intervention is not only for humans, all are welcome. Sorry, but how many cats did we place here again? (no cats are harmed, we just edited them in) 👀

The Javanese “Tumpang Sari” structure, which translates to layered ornaments, is a ceiling structure that is supported by the four central columns. The more stacked and layered the ceiling is, the higher the social status of its owner (in this case it is a commoner).

Sometimes a small intervention can give so much to its surroundings.

(Bonus bangunannya menari-nari)

In collaboration with M. Thirafi and Agus Achmad

Layers of vegetations, permeability, function, and retaining walls that make up the design of the village library.

Every element that we build, no matter how small will have its impact on the environment and become one with its system. This village library can hypothetically affect the small villages around it, creating new social connections.

The trekking was full of surprises, it was the best decisions for us not to come here at summer time, but due to the “windy” season, we cant see any hot air balloon… was not sad at all, because we found our (Titania) favorite valley (just because it is pink!!!) 😆🎀✨p.s: our kindly reminder: dont put your expectations too high by never believing those beautiful videos on TT 🥰 taken in Rose Valley, Göreme, Turkey by @titannn
