✨Our next performer spotlight for #toscomusicparty on April 11 is @latenightspecialmusic 🎸Breaking rules and lifting spirits, this Charlotte-based band delivers eclectic Southern swagger that’s both electric and forward-thinking. Add equal parts Zeppelin, Chili Peppers, Kings of Leon and a dash of Prince and you get a cocktail of funked-up indie rock n’ soul from Fred Lee IV (guitar/lead vocals), Tius Ragan-Johnson (guitar/backing vocals), Christian Balentine (bass), and Kevin Goddard (drums) — they’ll be joined by guest @imc_soundcraft on keys. @tiusrj @_kevingoddard @christianbalentine @tiusrj @fredleeiv 💥Fun fact, Tius first performed at #ToscoMusicOpenMic at age 14! We’re excited now to have him and his band closing the party of more than a dozen acts sharing the TMP stage this Saturday night as the city’s festival of art, culture and community continues! @cltshout 📆 Sat. My favorite part of showing off my guitars and bass for the @cadenceacademypreschool kids a few weeks ago was throwing a mini dance party at the end of each session with my bass! For the mini dance party, I played along to an unreleased tune by my band @latenightspecialmusic called “Baby,” which I recorded guitar parts for. I’m not showing the kids’ faces in these videos to protect their identities, but I wish I could show you how much fun they had dancing to our music! Follow me 👉 @titosmusicstudio and shoot me a DM or email at tito@titosmusicstudio.com to inquire about guitar lessons in Charlotte. If you started guitar or bass lessons TODAY, what song would you want to learn? #guitarlessons #guitarteacher #beginnerguitar #musicmondays #originalsongs taken in Charlotte, North Carolina by @tiusrj

Electric guitar for the kiddos! After showing them the acoustic, I had to break out the Les Paul to show these preschoolers a little bit of rock & roll. We went through a little @chilipeppers, fudged through some @gunsnroses, and ripped through some SRV and @metallica classics. Check out my last video to see how the kids reacted to the acoustic guitar, and reach out to @titosmusicstudio for questions about getting your student started with guitar or bass lessons. #guitarlessons #musicmonday #guitarteacher #musicteachers #preschoolers #musicforkids taken in Cadence Academy Preschool, Mallard by @tiusrj

Last week, I got a chance to participate in Music Monday at the Cadence Academy preschool! We learned about the acoustic guitar and how it sounds. The students loved it. Thanks to the Cadence Academy for having me. #preschoolmusic #acousticguitars #musicteachers #charlottemusic #musicstudents #guitarteacher taken in Cadence Academy Preschool, Mallard by @tiusrj

Yo! My name is Tius, and I am the owner of a brand new private music lesson studio called Tito’s Music Studio. Based inside The Playroom in Charlotte, I will be offering music lessons to beginner guitar and bass students starting on April 1, 2025. If you or someone you know may be interested in starting music lessons, click the link in my profile or send me a message, share this post, and give @titosmusicstudio a follow! A little more about my background: My journey with music began at age 9, taking guitar lessons with John Tosco right here in Charlotte. Since then, I’ve become obsessed with rock and roll, started bands, earned a music degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, and worked as a booking agent. Now, over 20 years after starting, I perform and record bass and guitar with a band called Late Night Special (@latenightspecialmusic). Inspiring others to get excited about music through my own performances was the main thing that drove me to start teaching. Kids would approach me with a huge smile after shows for advice or a photo with me and my guitar, and that became as important to me as playing the music itself. It reminded me of all the little things I loved about going to lessons as a kid that inspired me to stay the course; posters of iconic instruments and legendary bands onstage, old guitar magazines, mix CDs with songs I’d never forget, and opportunities to see live music. I realized that I could create my own version of that for my students, so that’s what I’m setting out to do. My priorities are to understand what moves my students, what their goals are, and to lead them toward success and fulfillment with their instrument. Students of Tito’s Music Studio will learn the fundamentals of playing technique, music theory, and learning songs by ear. Whether they want to learn how to play Taylor Swift songs for fun or prepare themselves for a career in music, there’s something for everyone here. The most important thing I want to give to students is a space for them to be themselves and explore their musical passions without barriers. Let’s rock today! 🎸 Logo by @nangadef4 #charlottebusiness #charlotteiscreative #charlottemusic #charlottesgotalot taken in The Playroom by @tiusrj
