@desybrailyn is one of the first clients I was able to take in and take a chance on me. Since then we have grown so much mentally and physically. I watched him go from my shy little brother to someone strong with confidence. I have taken him through a successful meet prep to a great meet to now shattering rep pr’s in the off-season. Being new to the coaching world and helping my clients is so rewarding and I can’t wait to help many more to their goals. taken in DSM Barbell Club by @tjamesfender

No program, just me thinking of fun and challenging things to do before a session.

As I try I to get better heart health I like to pair short intense windbike, rower, burpees, mountain climbers with my heavy compound. If I was worried about top end strength I would not do that. But learning to work hard while tired is a good transferable skill to many things in life.

Then to keep the sweat going I use a giant set with workouts that work on my deficits(shoulder health, biceps). And keep rest periods short at the end of the giant set.

Got a little chunky over vacation but bodyweight is coming back down.

If you want a quick 15-30 min workout, cut out the snatches and have fun. taken in DSM Barbell Club by @tjamesfender

Vacation/training dump

10 days off work gets you thinking.
First thought, screen time was at an all time low and I was significantly happier without it.
Second thought, the world is beatiful and you should look up more.
Third thought: being in good physical shape is way more enjoyable than being peak strength.
Fourth thought: my girlfriend is hot
Fifth thought: I need an E-Bike
Sixth thought: I’d get fat before getting a membership to a commercial gym in Utah
Seventh thought: Joseph smith couldn’t read those fake ahh golden plates
Eighth thought: I can remember, my ADHD tendencies took over and I hopped on marketplace. by @tjamesfender

Client win:

Mike reached out to me wanting to build some good habits and get away from living a more sedentary lifestyle. Due to chronic knee issues, he would tend to stay away from activity out of fear of reinjury. After a good conversation and understanding his goals we got right to work. After starting very moderately we did have a flare up that only lasted a couple weeks and was quickly remedied. Once we were through that it only took two blocks to get Mike feeling more confident in his abilities. Also getting compliments from others claiming he is moving around better with less clicking and popping in the knees.
The progress is amazing but I have 100 percent faith we will get him to the strongest healthiest version of himself.

3 block spark notes:
3x week lifting (usually 2)
Started with tempo BB Squat (regressed to goblet when knee flared up)
Progressed back up to top set tempo BB Squat
Focus on gettin steps up (better recovery)
Added back down sets of no tempo BB squat
Started with 135 ending block 3 with a very easy 275

Any questions feel free to reach out!

How things are looking currently.
If you want a fun athletic workout, give it a try. The wind bike and squats are a super set and done as fast as possible. The squats are bodyweight.

Loose goals are cleaning 315, maintaining a leaner body composition and leaning into more challenging tasks.

We have 2/3 lifts figured out. I have two options with dead’s 1: Go back to hook or 2: Dealdift bar and hook. If I drop another deadlift I’m going to go buy a gun based on mouth feel.

All this progress while doing mma/jiu jitsu 1-3 times a week.

Client testimonial: @erica.thompson.10

In the last year Erica has had to work through a lot of things as a lifter. Battling injuries that pop up. Learning when to push hard, when to pull back. Experiencing meet day nerves. And adjusting to eating more to fuel her body rather than trying to be small all the time. All that being said, she kills it every time. She’s very coachable and has an insane work ethic. Never misses a workout, never deviates from the plan(other than over ambitious attempt selection).

We have a meet in July and I’m super excited to see the progress made. by @tjamesfender

It’s more than just eat less move more.
It’s the art of understanding someone and being able to implement a plan that seems effortless. Max is my second client that I have helped lose over 100 lbs. He came to me in November with a big goal and high hopes. And we executed! Going from 318-218 in 6 months. We had to break through a couple bad habits and give him some fun ways to workout and that’s all it took to get the ball rolling. Very blessed to have people who trust me to make help make their life better.

If you have questions about how to get things rolling in the right direction. Feel free to reach out! by @tjamesfender
