🌍 MEETINGS AND GUESTS
Damaris de Jong, actress "Ketchup"

Social conventions, personal fetishes, and the absurd ways we define our identity can deeply challenge the boundaries of normalcy. In "Ketchup", Dutch actress Damaris de Jong delivers a sharp, playful, and unapologetically bold performance as Andrea, a woman facing the consequences of her private habit. Balancing humor with keen vulnerability, her portrayal strips away societal expectations to capture a profound truth about suppression, freedom, and self-discovery.

A SURREAL JOURNEY OF SELF-DISCOVERY SUPPORTED BY NETFLIX.

In this year’s International Fiction Competition, we present "Ketchup" by Tjeerd Dam. Andrea has an irresistible need to smear herself with ketchup in private. But when this habit crosses into her workplace, it sparks the beginning of a transformative journey.

Directed by the talented Tjeerd Dam and supported by Netflix’s ‘De Ontmoeting’ program, the film combines absurd storytelling with sharp observations. Dam’s work is a profound reflection on how characters resist oppressive systems through imagination. A bold exploration of belonging and the invisible boundaries of social convention, "Ketchup" marks a unique voice in contemporary Dutch cinema.
