This morning i woke up and found out terrible news, that coach Phil had passed away. The coach that gave me so many opportunities. The coach that pushed till I couldn’t go anymore. The coach that opened doors for me for life. I couldn’t believe the news. I didn’t know how to process this. You fought so hard for 7 months. One of the strongest people ever. You are with God in a better place. Coach Phil was someone that walked in the doors first day of practice and made a big impact right from the jump. He was someone that was going to change saint Edmonds basketball. Coach Phil not only impacted the team but impacted me. Coach Phil only wanted the best for me. He had always would make sure I wasn’t cutting any corners and giving my 100%. He was someone who made sure I was ok. Coach Phil taught me so much about life and being a leader. He was someone that i looked up to. He had only been my coach for 4 months and he made a tremendous impact on me and on my family. Coach had done so much for me and getting opportunities for high school and basketball. He set me up for success and I can’t thank him enough for that. Coach Phil will be someone i will not forgot and will carry with me for the rest of my life. I will always still remember you yelling my name at me which is one of my favorite memories with you if not my favorite. You changed my life for the better and I can’t thank you enough. You’re in a better place now coach. I couldn’t have asked for a better coach, so thank you for everything you’ve done for me, my family, our team, and for everyone around you. You will be missed by everyone who you had an impact on. Until i see you again coach. Hopefully we’ll meet again someday coach 🕊️
